Go to your local dry cleaners. They are hurting for business and are most likely selling handmade cloth masks for <$10 each. They aren't moisture wicking but it's a nice small business to help.

I wanted a cheap acoustic guitar to replace the one I sold the last time I moved across the country.

Ended up with a Yamaha FS800.

Gotta say I’m impressed with how decent cheap guitars have become.

Yamaha make great instruments across the board. I have a classical from them that's been through hell and still plays and sounds great.

Search Etsy for moisture wicking masks, you'll probably find it.

I got a mask off there that uses a single strap with velcro, I'm not a big fan of the elastic ones

On my way home today I passed one of the local carpet/upholstery places and they were proudly selling masks.

Were they made of carpet?

I legit think that one patterned like a casino/airport carpet would be cool.

I don't care that this was a long time ago but I honestly doubt their lowest tier has improved much, but I'll never buy another Yamaha bass. I have an RXB-170 and it's poo poo, the quality control was just awful. One of the tuning machines stripped out and they used a different drill patterned machine than standard and I couldn't find identical replacements, the pick up pockets are hilariously over routed you could almost fit a pencil between the pickup and the body, the pots are all completely loose and one of them is threatening to fall out, and the jack is also loose. I played a Yamaha trombone and it was good, and have played Yamaha keyboards and like them, but I'll be hosed if I ever buy a stringed instrument from them again.

Great buy! The Yamaha FG/FS acoustic guitars just sound fantastic and play real nice. Having a decent guitar to start with makes all the world of difference imho, and the solid top and laminate body is a great sounding combo. I’ve definitely paid more for worse guitars.

My folks have one of those hooked into the land line for god knows what reason. I’d be curious how much trouble it would be to get working on VOIP. Should be fairly straightforward as you can hook legacy phones into one of those converter pucks, though dialing out would be a whole thing.

Wouldn't be hard to install some sort of lovely dial tone phone inline with that thing just so you can dial out

Got a Weller WLC-100 soldering iron.

Pretty worth it. Now I don't have to balance an iron with a rotted out tip over a coffee cup. :sci101:
Also got a little stand with clips to hold things in place instead of using literally whatever I can find.

Fixed the buzzing issue from the switch replacement I did before with it. Job went much quicker with the proper tools.

Sadly, magnets and disc golf bag are unrelated...for now. I do have a lot more magnets that I need for my "project."

I have a stainless steel, commercial-style counter, like this:

Because of a terrible kitchen layout and no storage, the only place to put it is near the door, and I need to use the bottom area to store some pans, lids, and cutting boards. Because they are lower to the floor AND near the door, dirt, hair, etc... get on them. The ones I use frequently are ok, I usually give a rinse anyway to be safe, but some of the lids or pans I don't use get nasty and I am sick of having to basically wash my pans before I use them.

I'm going to get a piece of sheet metal and place it over one end (which is the end right next to the door, other end is against the oven), and hold it in place on the legs with the strong magnets.

Edit: And the evaporust is to try and remove some rusty brake caliper pins on my car.
It's...uhh...smaller than I expected:

I should have looked at the size of the bottle. I guess I just assumed it was the same size as the jugs of regular evaporust I see in the hardware store, but I need the gel so it can stay in place, but I guess it's like 3 times the price per volume as the liquid version that's the same price for a half gallon jug.
