Yeah, I hope my response didn't come off as dismissive or minimizing. I've never seen some specific comment or something from EC3 but the people he follows and likes are like some DEEP dive racist poo poo. It was a message in and of itself.

Kurt basically said he wanted to keep going, he definitely didn't think his last match should have been against Corbin and wanted one more title run before going, but Vince looked at him as a liability, only saw the injury history and just wanted him to GM because it'd be less hard on his body. It became a self-fulfilling prophecy; by the time Kurt was actually allowed to have matches again in his final run, he hadn't taken bumps or trained regularly in so long, he wound up looking and feeling as bad and hurt and old as Vince originally thought he looked

Kurt Angle might be the one situation where every time you can go "Vince probably did the right thing there".

His final match really should have just been him squashing Corbin and calling it a night.

I mean it's fitting that Takeshi Iizuka a career mid carder got a better retirement send off and angle than WWE gave a Hall of Famer in Kurt Angle in a way

Yeah, the right way to end that story was to have Corbin gently caress with Angle repeatedly and then get destroyed at Mania while the announcers go "Oh right, Kurt Angle is literally an Olympic Gold Medalist in Wrestling."

Tingly.

Now, if Joe was the guy who murdered him at Mania...

(But up until this last year of injuries, I probably would've almost always said "And why NOT Samoa Joe for [insert storyline here]?")

Yeah but Baron Corbin is a regional Golden Gloves boxer and professional football practice squad player.

Colt Cabana wore a practice jersey for some college team because Pro Wrestlers needed to have played college football.

He insisted Jim Ross bring up his college career in AEW, and told Excalibur to make fun of it.

The best thing EC3 was ever involved in was his old NXT angle with Johnny Curtis, and most of that was Curtis just being a hilarious scumbag.

NXT's peak on the SciFi network. I mean this era in general, there is a oner with the entire cast from this time period that remains one of the better things a wrestling show has done from a cinematographic perspective.

Every wrestling company on the Earth has only fired or suspended people for disciplinary reasons except for WWE.

Brian Myers (fka Curt Hawkins) was on Penzer's podcast

Regarding getting a creative idea approved posted:

It’s next to impossible. There are so many cooks in the kitchen and it is so hard to get something done. You need to establish a relationship with Vince where you can go in there and ask him yourself because it’s going to take 12 other people to facilitate and get the message to him. It’s such a waste of everyone’s time. I saw an interview with Eric Young where he said it’s a flawed system and I think that’s the best way to describe it.

Regarding WWE offering large extension offers to people pre-plague posted:

Yea, it was astronomical. Once someone said no, then it went up for everybody. It kept happening. It wound up being what it was, which was too good to be true. It was more money than I ever imagined making in this business. The big thing for them was the years. Everybody’s contract was 5 years. The boys were calling it the “Please don’t go to AEW contract.” I was thinking I’m very comfortable here. I enjoy it. I’m set up for post in ring stuff. I’m more than fine with signing this.

Regarding being fired during a plague posted:

I was shocked. I think one of the things that messed my head up was literally the day before in one of my group chats we were talking about it. One of my friends, and I don’t need to say his name, but he’s very involved, said that will never happen. They will never let anyone go during a pandemic because that would look so bad. Fast forward to now, 90+ days later, and they are the only wrestling company letting people go during this pandemic. It’s still baffling to me. I’ve moved on. I don’t care anymore and I’m excited to be with Impact.

Thinks It's All Real
It's fascinating that they would even offer someone like Curtis Hawkins a 5 year contract to do what he does for "more money than he ever imagined making in this business"

Like they're that loving scared of these people going to AEW, but then a few months later just fire the people and let them work wherever they can?
