TCM and Halloween 1 are the best straight up slashers. Also love TCM 2 and Halloween 3 for entirely different reasons.

TCM is one of my favourite movies ever. The John Larroquette voice over in the beginning is perfect and chilling, and I love the trivia that he did it, uncredited, in exchange for weed.

The Purge's first movie is an irredeemanly lame and poorly acted slasher with a nonsense back story. The second one they went gently caress it and just made a modern version of Escape from New York.
