You know at first I was getting ready to type out a screed about how insufferable the interior toucher cult is but you know what, that IS bad! So bad that I just had to do a double take to see if I was I'm sorry but do you really think if you get in a new E class, or any car for that matter, and press the interior it'll sound like crumpled aluminum foil? The audio on that videos obviously manipulated.

also, if we're prioritizing interior trim functionality i think i go something like 1) doesn't rattle 2) looks nice 3) is nice to touch 4) is relatively inexpensive and maybe way down at the bottom is "when i push on it, it makes a pleasant noise or no noise at all"

That video is really wonky. Doesn't seem representative of the real deal. smooth jazz, you got duped. That being said, there is a poster that mentioned new Audis he's been in have a lot of rattles when it gets cold

That big honkin' fan sticking out the back is rad. I like the looks of the car, it doesn't look like it's trying to scatter radar like a lot of hypercars.

Watching the video it occurred to me I’ve never really heard Murray talk much but man, I absolutely would like to buy what he’s selling. He says all the right things for my dinosaur rear end soul. Also makes me appreciate the F1 way more than I ever have. I was always very almost indifferent to it before, but hearing more about it from his mouth makes it way cooler in that he actually got it done.

It’s pretty amazing seeing him kind somehow make a better F1 using modern tech to keep it austere as gently caress. The F1 and F40 have been my favorite exotics for a long time because of the race-centric build and this thing is definitely a spiritual heir. Wow.

Even through all the newer poo poo like when the Enzo showed up and various Paganis, the F1 was always my Peak Car. The T.50 is essentially a true F1 v2.0 and I cannot wait to see what it does. Hell, I might even buy a poster.

I’m looking forward to seeing video of it on the track, not just to hear it but to see how the suspension works. It’s so cool to see the old F1 pitch and roll around. I remember reading though that a lot of people thought the F40 was nicer to drive than the F1 despite the lower performance.

Can we just discuss how this is likely the last big 'manual' car? At least until Murray passes and some mentalist honours him with something similar. He's made a massive point of everything being as pure as possible and in 2020 that's loving nuts.

I generally suspect we'll see more manual niche high performance ICE cars over time once high-output EV becomes more of a reality, with more of a focus on experience over absolute performance (since EV will probably crush in terms of absolute performance in the future). I hope that's the case, anyway!

Pricing details for the Mazda 3's Panic Refresh have been revealed. The 2.0 N/A is back to serve as the base model, and is competively priced with the base Civic trims. The 2.5T will only come with AWD, and an automatic, and it will start at $30,000. A $30,000 Mazda 3 sounds like an extremely hard sell. I'm sure it's technically superior to a CLA or a 2 Series Gran Coupe but no one buys those cars on their quality. Those cars are bought because they're the cheapest way to get that badge. It is also worth noting that the 2.5T 3 will also be within $1K of a new Mazda 6 2.5T.

The difference is that you could be seen driving a Mazda 3 without the shame that would come of being witnessed driving a bargain bitch Benz. It likely won't be a huge volume mover but the turbo 3 was necessary as part of Mazda's push upmarket, and if I were in the market for a new car it's a far more compelling option than most vehicles in the price range, assuming the drivetrain and suspension tuning aren't hosed up.

The guy waffles on with nonsense for like 20% of the video. I turned it off half way through when he was saying something about the aero giving them an extreme amount of control over the car and its experience and the experience is control or some other thought-loop sounding poo poo. like a project manager that has sat in a meeting 10min before the interview with the engineering leads of each department and asked for the cliffnotes and talking points but without any firm understanding of what is actually done. he also seems to bounce around between the car existing and being driven by himself and also that it doesnt exist yet and what they have simulated. its a cool car though.
