Raping nazis is like killing hitler. It sounds like something OK to do, but if you look closer most people who did it were fascists and assholes.

aside from the rape apologia this discussion always leaves a bad taste in my mouth because it puts you in the position of being on the same side as nazis and also occurs suspiciously often, while it's just assumed a priori that we all know of and condemn nazi crimes and thus you have the odd effect that allied war crimes get talked about in detail more often than the nazi ones in internet discussions. i don't think anybody here is a crypto-nazi or anything, just an observation that witnessing discussions on various forums over the years leads to repeated patterns

one of my favorite plot lines in the show Oz happened in the last season. one of the series' worst prisoners, a guy from the aryan brotherhood gets kicked out (cause of a dental procedure that had his gums replaced with that of a dead black guy), and because he made some enemies along the way, he's pretty much marked for death. in order to keep himself alive, he agrees to become a sex slave to another member of the AB. turns out that the guy he's getting protection from is an even more sadistic rapist than he was. the reason i bring this up is cause even though the ex-AB dude was an absolute piece of poo poo who really deserved every bit of pain and humiliation he got, you still kind of feel for him, as he comes across being completely helpless and pitiful. Dunno if this is an unpopular opinion, but I pushed through watching Oz for like three seasons, and it kinda.... sucked? Great performances, sets etc. But the writing was yikes. It ended up feeling like a soap opera.

this is spoilers but lmfao at this career choice Simon Adebisi is a fictional character played by Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje on the HBO dramatic series Oz. Adebisi serves as one of the main characters in the first four seasons. After the first half of season four, his character was killed off the show so Akinnuoye-Agbaje could film the movie The Mummy Returns.

You have to remember that Oz was the first time network show runners got to do whatever the gently caress they wanted. So they went hard in the paint. They went from having to fight NBC for years to say "crap" after 9 p.m. to HBO saying " Sure, you can have a rape victim with a swastika burned on his rear end poo poo in a nazi's face".

There is a story line in Oz where they trial an aging drug on prisoners for reduced sentences. It probably wasn't even the dumbest thing in the later seasons either. Anyway enjoy this. https://mobile.twitter.com/ReeceGoddard7/status/1283088387260461057

oz is one of those shows that hasn't held up particularly well, but it was definitely decent for its time and today's prestige tv owes a debt of gratitude to it for helping prove there's an audience for something darker than Law and Order.

It isn't exactly taking a pro nazi POV but it does show just how ignorant a lot of people are to just how deep the horrors of the nazi state were rooted in its very existence. That's what happens when a bunch of weirdo nerds who failed at basically everything else had to come up with an ideology that made them special by purely their birth, because that was the one thing they had. poo poo POST MALONE posted:I've tried watching Arliss so many times. can't get into it. I don’t understand why nazis think that talking about atrocities visited upon them by the winners of the war would draw people to their cause anyway. It makes them look like failures and vermin who invited their own destruction, but because of that weird rhetorical tic where they are simultaneously mighty supermen who deserve the world by right and blameless, hapless victims of the unscrupulous lesser races, they think it somehow justifies their violence and makes people sympathize with them. It’s extremely stupid, but so are nazis.

a show that did age well though is queer as folk which iirc was out (lol) around the same time as oz well, i mean besides the main character loving a high schooler in the first episode but past that it still holds up (except for the lesbians but they were always the worst part of the show)
