Ha, the weird guy Jonathan happens to know I heard recently in an very old episode was Shifty Shellshock of Crazy Town.

If Jonathan’s father weren’t Dan Fielding, I have a feeling he would still know most of his famous musician friends.

Spoilers from the video for 811: they revisit the legendary lipstick on glass story. So good.

I honestly love that Jonathan doesn't remember like a single story they're covering again.

I listened to like 10 minutes of UYD earlier in the year and thought it was dumb stoner comedy, but a couple months ago I tried it again and really got into it. I especially love Seth's making GBS threads all over southern culture in his exaggerated southern accent.

What sold me on the show was an episode where they talked about how OJ Simpson was originally cast as The Terminator, and they were like, "Remember that iconic line of his, 'I'm gonna be back'?
'I'll be right back'".

I routinely think about an old episode where they describe James Bond a "a secret agent who gets mad laid, and his catchphrases are 'I'll be back' and 'Fuggedaboutit!'"

This was me back in 2006. But after about 10 episodes it just clicked.

14 years later I’m taking my UYD tote bag to the store.

112, the way Gertrude Baines loves Seth and hates Jonathan is so perfect. Also has the stories of the principal caught in an out-of-state motel blazing and watching porn with two teenage sisters and the guy who crashes a random funeral and starts groping and showing porn to the bereaved.

Not to be rude but are you a new listener? Their whole thing is they talk about weird offbeat news and stupid poo poo that happens to them in their daily lives. Covid news has completely overshadowed small news stories, and the boys are staying safe inside lately. So there's nothing recent to talk about that they can joke about.

Yeah no worries about being rude, no I've been listening for a bit, maybe ten years or so. I think I might feel that way cause I'm not American so your pain isn't as close.

112 is probably one of my favourite episodes. It's peak distilled UYDness.

Also I'm from the UK and been listening for years and I don't mind the lookbacks. I prefer that to trying to document any insanity going on right now because just about everything is related to the current state of the world.

If you're a Patron you get access to the vault, and the vault has the archive to all the old episodes. You can play them from the page or download them.
