gently caress gently caress gently caress yes not so much what it looks like to me but EXACTLY what it feels like, if that makes sense

I don't want to even look at this for too long because it might trigger one.

Mine have those exact patterns, but start as a dot in the center of my vision and slowly expand to the entirety of my left side of vision. Then a small dot of clear vision appears in the center and expands to tell me that the vision-portion of the migraine is over.

I get those but they’re a little more subtle (colors shifting more slowly) and if I slam a handful of naproxen the moment I notice, I’ll just get a dull headache that can be ignored if I lie down for a bit. Pretty cool, it’s like a reward for finding the secret message.

I've had a few alleged migraines in my life, but I just felt weird as hell and then slowly darkness closes in on one of my eyes and I can't see out of it anymore and I start bumping into stuff. No pain though and haven't had one in years.

of a full load.

I had what was called a silent migraine, which is when you just get the weird blurry vision. Mine looked a lot like that, but with less rainbow color, it looked more like someone had splashed water on my glasses, but still with that strange flickering effect.

It was hard trying to see enough to google what it was, I was afraid I was having an aneurysm or something.

The next time I got it, it wasn't silent and it was one of the worst 2 hours of my life. I can't imagine how lovely it is for people that have to deal with them on a daily basis, it must be awful.

I get these the fantastic hemiplegic migraines that mimic stroke symptoms. First one I had I remember seeing this while browsing the forums and thought I had eye stress so I went down to see the family, looked at my kid to say something like 'Hows the salami' and what came out was basically 'dfbjadfbnadnb'. So I thought I was having a stroke and it took about 2 minutes of life or death charades to get my wife to call an ambulance. Imagine knowing what you want to say, reaching for a word, and as soon as you open your mouth its gone and you cant remember it at all

This reminds me of a personal experience I am going to share as a PSA.

I have worked various jobs at a hospital for going on 15 years now. Early on I was a transporter for radiology and got called to the ER to take a possible stroke patient to mri. As we are heading over I am talking with this guy, who was probably in his early 40’s, and he is describing what happened. He was giving a presentation at a senior center and his vision in one eye went to black like he had pulled the blinds down on the window. He had some balance issues as well and the folks he was giving the presentation to insisted that they call 911 because they thought he was having a stroke. On the ride into the hospital his issues resolved so he is thinking no big deal.

So we get over to mri and on the first sequence you can clearly see his whole right internal carotid artery is occluded, the only reason he isn’t doa is because his left carotid is doing double time.

So I encourage you and yours to know the signs of stroke and take it seriously if you see it.

Thanks for your time have a cool mri of a corn cob

My migraines also typically mimic stroke symptoms, so I'm pretty sure that's how I'm going to die, since I can't rush to the emergency room and get a CAT scan every time I get a migraine.

I've had these! Three or four in the past 10-years. They're called "scintillating scotoma," and they typically herald the onset of a migraine.

Except I've never had a severe headache - let alone a migraine - in my life.

These come on and last 10-30-minutes.

:hfive: Hemiplegic migraine buddies. My dad gets them so I had an idea of what was going on when I had my first one. Its terrifying since covid seems to give people strokes too. I know my triggers so I haven't had one in a couple years.

P.S. If you have kids they can inherit these headaches.

But I do however remember every detail of every embarrassing moment, and become like loving Jason Bourne with his horrible flashbacks -- but mine are less for murder and more like saying the wrong word and realizing 20 years later I sounded like a horrible creep to someone I admired.

PS I didn't know I have been having migraines... Can you get that effect with a regular headache? Because mine seem pretty tame compared to what other people deal with and pass in a hour or two -- but they hella suck and my temple feels like it's pushing down on my eyeball. Solid 6-7 pain.
