homeless snail posted:spending the first 90 episodes building up the mystique of shiosai no memory, and repeatedly reinforcing how amazing this movie is and especially because of the incredible performance of hiromi suzuka on the title song, and also paralleled by the mystery of why aki's mom's idol career never took off in the 80s and why aki's isn't taking off in the 2000s... and then it all comes together when you realize hiromi suzuka was tone deaf and aki's mom was her voice double. the moment when her producer says the reason why she's not debuting is that management says her demo tape is too similar to suzuka's voice, its infuriating!!! i'm mad about fictional idols!!! But has she caught a sea urchin yet?

Any jpop experts? I'm trying to find a song from maybe a decade ago with a music video that's very, very blue. It has been haunting me for years but I have been unable to remember the title. I found it once, thought it was kinda bad and then managed to forget it all over again.
