You can probably just copy the savegame00 folder or whatever it's called and drop it into whatever directory the Steam version uses.

My only complaint is that the game could've used difficulty modes.

Everything about it is so wonderful but it has some difficulty spikes that I know will keep some from making it to the end

The Steam edition on the 27th is also coming with a patch that adds more checkpoints and difficulty adjustments for the controlplainers.

Oooooooo. E: Big fan of not needing to mod a game if it's too hard.
-
EE: Completely unrelated, the extra storage spaces in PSO2 being behind a subscription paywall when it's a game that's all about looting is pretty darn gross. It's also expensive. I'm looking at you $15-$17 Materials Storage (30 days).

You have to buy AC and then use the AC to purchase SG which is the currency needed to get the Materials Storage which can't be bought with AC. I was getting confused with the double conversion of currency. I think I might be done. I was having a lot of fun, but the inventory management is so unpleasant, especially if you start getting into harvesting and gathering. I was struggling to throw things into the trash, transfer them, or feed them to my MAG while doing multi-party quests like the Urgent Mission stuff.

Yeeck.

The random mat drops for random "+1% to whatever" upgrades to your weapons are godawful, so that's at least one negative thing that I think can be reasonably said about it.

It's actually some budget looking adventure game.
i played the demo of this during the steam festival, it was alright. they were trying to go for a hand-built look to the environments and stop-motion look to the CG characters, it doesn't quite work but they at least gave it a go

it's kind of cool now seeing some of the games i wishlisted from the festival actually getting release dates and coming out

It's a real shame for anyone to not beat Control. Not because the game is overall that good (I think it seriously drags in places, the loot system is abysmal and imho it seriously underuses its core scp-ish concepts) but because all the best parts of the game are right near the start and then close to the end. The Ashtray Maze is a PHENOMENAL experience, it's just a shame it comes in after 10 hours of bland office hallways.

Therefore the comment that would've been improved by having less of that, presumably. Personally, I'm not sure I'd agree - not because I thought the gameplay was all that great, but because I thought the story and characters weren't really anything to write home about, either. Alan Wake is a game that lived on production values and basically nothing else. In all fairness, it did have those coming out of its ears, though.

Aphex- posted:

If you're getting it for free, then I would say it's at least worth trying. Personally, I thought it was kind of boring, though.
