Slightly related but my grandma had a long and antagonistic relationship with chickens, ducks, and geese. She absolutely hated the things because she grew up on a farm and as the youngest was responsible for feeding them and they would peck and swat at her every time. When one of my cousins went vegetarian she said "I understand your reasons but I will never not eat poultry because I need to get them back." She passed away last month and we just finished cleaning out her apartment so I'm feeling sentimental about her stories. e: when she was old enough to help her mother chop their heads off she said she enjoyed it probably too much.

I've not had many of those fowl experiences, but I have had enough to know that birds deserve it and worse I kinda feel bad about beef, but drat it's tasty

The Bloop posted:Are rabbits more prone to biting their owners than, say, rats, because it seems like they could take your finger off like a carrot Rats aren't really prone to biting if they're trained well. I've had six of them over the years and only got bit once. The one that bit me was an adult we took in from a shelter. He never became affectionate and had clearly been traumatized by lovely owners. The time it happened he'd managed to escape and was hiding behind a closet so when I pulled it out and tried to hold out some lettuce he chomped my finger instead. Got a tetanus shot just in case. Anyway. https://twitter.com/planetpng/status/1294706723400417281?s=20

I also was only bitten once, but even with those odds I feel like teeth and jaws five times the size could have led to permanent damage, which is why I asked about the bunnies

There's also the fact that they are much less domesticated so it's probably more likely. They take way longer to train to be social. Every time I've been to my local pet store and gone to the room with rodent cages pretty much every animal has been sitting at the back of it's cage and looked suicidal. The rats on the other hand will rush up to the front to sniff your hand. It's thanks to them being the animal mostly used in various research during the generations that they naturally want to hang out with humans. This is a very blessed account. https://twitter.com/RatsEveryHour/status/1295382377628422146?s=20

The least diverse job, by far, is speech pathologist. Speech pathologists are ~96% female, and 92% white. It's so bad if you google "speech pathology diversity" you get a bunch of articles published, in like medical journals saying "hey guys, its probably actually a problem there are literally no men in this field, for the same reason we need female doctors." At a certain point you need people who can understand and relate to those gender specific problems, and lacking that diversity limits your pool of expertise.
