And how one of the people celebrating in the office when they called the race was then SF DA Kamala Harris who had been out campaigning for him. A decade later Donald Trump wins in part to a racial backlash to Barack Obama. And now, to beat him, Joe Bide, the older white guy Obama selected as his running mate, turns around and chooses Kamala whose parents, like Obamas, came from opposite sides of the world, to become the first black woman to run on a major party ticket. And it sort of reminded me of what our old boss said, I think shortly after Trump won, that "history doesn't always move in a straight line, but it moves." And... I don't know. Its a big deal. A big deal.

Alex Jones and his brand of crazy is a rich vein of content for them but they sometimes spend a bit too much time debunking the exact same horseshit over and over again because Alex never stops saying it

be warned though, they are friends with Robert Evans and subscribe to his same brand of pro-bellingcat talking points which occasionally crop up whenever the topic of conversation shifts to the middle east and syria in particular

Yeah I was mostly kidding, I have heard that Sartre has some good work on phenomenology and I can't really speak with any authority since I've mostly only read secondary sources on the topic.

I think I missed where Matt was dismissing phenomenology, was it in a twitch stream or one of the recent pod episodes? It's kind of a bummer that he's being close minded in that respect. I'm really enamored with it and find it to be a fruitful methodology but I guess maybe there's a bit of friction between a hard materialist outlook and phenomenology?
