I'll throw in a couple not yet mentioned: Jethro Bronner : South African guy who restores classic Alfas. Cold War Motors: Western Canadian goofballs messing around with weird Canadian versions of cars from the 50s and 60s. Currently restoring a 1967 Citroen DS and a 1960 Plymouth Fury. Lots of rust repair and bodywork, excellent workmanship.

https://www.youtube.com/c/TheStoryTillNow I'm digging this channel recently. Normal guy, doing Jeep things around Canada with his friends. Some pretty well edited footage in the later videos and I don't find him annoying. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSYfpT-hQRBeujVwHEMEsww I also enjoy Flying Sparks Garage. The two people who run the channel have a few project cars and so a lot of motor swaps for friends in their garage. Both of these channels are a lot of fun. I agree that Matt's Off-road Recovery is a fantastic channel and love when he posts new videos.

Silver lining: if the USPS does go away, that means the LLVs will probably be sold off cheap. The LLV is on a Chevy S-10 frame. There are kits to put a small-block V8 in an S-10. You can get at least 400hp out of a Chevy 350 these days without cutting a hole in the hood for a blower. Sure, the LLV is a deathtrap above 45mph, but ...

I too hope that democracy in America is destroyed if that means we can have a bunch of 30 year old S-10s to swap Chevy 350s into, an outrageous and novel swap that will make me the talk of Woodward Ave.

And someone has already done the swap, more than once. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z7-scO-gUtA I like that on that one he used deeper-offset wheels on the front to get the track the same (the LLV uses a 2WD S10 front, of course, but they used a 4x4 rearend, presumably so they could make the cargo area wider.) I hope to hell he didn't try running the motor with antifreeze in it Reminds me of the time I did my first oil change (I was 16), after I drained the pan my buddy told me I needed to start the engine to get all the oil out really good. I remember thinking that doesn't sound right but whatever ok, went to turn the key and my buddy was like NOOOOOO I WAS KIDDING

pretty sure if he ran the engine with the antifreeze and whatever amount of oil was left in the lines, it would create the forbidden caramel instead of coming out in a clear phase. Combat Theory fucked around with this message at 16:07 on Aug 24, 2020 |
