Is the adventure mode stuff in Remnant separate from the campaign? I'm playing through the story with my friends but would like to play solo occasionally, can I roll some dungeons or something to work through and then go back to the story mode when I'm playing with them? I was scared to try because I don't want it to overwrite my progress if you can't do them both simultaneously.

I started an adventure mode run on Nightmare after beating the game just to try it out, cus Nightmare said "recommended for players with endgame gear' and hey I just beat the final boss right? Anyways I got one and two-shot a bunch and then left. I could switch back to campaign mode at the save point in Ward 13.

I don't even know why the title change had to happen. Even if this was the official Steam thread, discussion of PC gaming in general was happening so what does changing the title accomplish?

I genuinely had no idea it was a thing OR that it had a fancy name until I started playing Demoncrawl. My greatest Demoncrawl regret is that I didn't take any screenshots of the time I managed to go infinite and max out coins+armor while filling the entire stage with NPCs and flaming balls of death. I managed to make Minesweeper lag.

+1 To change it back, I would have said not to change it back when the question got asked but it looked like it had already been decided as no and the discussion moved on to something else. Seems pretty crappy to change it after deciding on No.

It is very fitting that some people are kinda upset about having to deal with other storefronts in their thread title instead of just Steam. Rename the thread to The GOG Galaxy Megathread to solve this issue IMHO.

(The game takes a backup like... every stage, though, I did not lose much work.)

I was scared to try because I don't want it to overwrite my progress if you can't do them both simultaneously. you can have 1 campaign and 1 adventure running at the same time per character, which are totally unrelated (they can be different difficulties, so we were moving up to hard adventures before actually finishing our normal campaign). you'll want to do adventures if you want more gear since the length of the campaign will only run you through maybe a third of the possible weapons/armor/jewelry in the game. to answer the question from earlier about getting gear to +20, I believe hardened iron only drops in hard difficulty or above. e: actually don't quote me on this, we saw hardened iron right around when we started doing hard adventures but I think we maybe started seeing it in the normal campaign after we went back too

There is now a separate PC Gaming Megathread so now when people annoy you by posting EGS or hardware derails, you can tell them there's a better thread for it! Maybe nobody will post in it, or maybe we can finally have the Steam thread for the Steam posters

Just to be clear, the thread title is almost immaterial here, it's the whole new mods coming in and acting like by not going along with this we're somehow loving up their cool plans and being smug about it. It's not a great look.

yeah for over a decade the thread's focused on content and what everyone wanted to talk about instead of steam itself outside of sales, there wasn't really a behaviour change to impact and i doubt anyone thinks this isn't the general pc gaming thread
