You know, I've actually been watching some Russian propagandists lately, just to try to understand their angle. Initially I thought they just switched to supporting Lukashenko unconditionally, but then I started noticing some interesting details in their narrative. To generalise a bit, they focus their seething hatred on specific people like Tikhanovskaya (should go back to kitchen) and Alexiyevich (hates Russia and everything Russian), and also on the reform package associated with Tikhanovskaya rightfully or not. At the same time, they do paint Lukashenko as someone who's lost all control, they acknowledge that protests are peaceful and even voice concerns about police brutality (don't mind how hypocritical that might sound). What I'm getting from that, and it's just me speculating, is that they are ready to drop Lukashenko if he fails to sort everything out very soon, and their rhetoric sounds more like campaigning for a yet unannounced pro-Russian candidate than approval of Lukashenko's actions here and now.

I wonder how hosed in the head he is from being raised as the golden prince of a father that i would imagine is both terribly strict and completely checked out when he is not showing him off or punishing him. He has been told from birth that Belarus is his birthrigth, he`s probably also been physically and verbally abused every time he displayed any sign of weakness or empathy. I don't think speculation can lead to any real insights here. Like any child celebrity, he's got a chance of having bad time growing up, but also he might be totally fine.

Kolya is unknowable. One thing is for certain, is that Lukahsneko adores him, so I doubt he was disciplined very hard. He definately loves him more than his other sons who he barely even talks to. It's hard to tell and him brandishing a golden gun and dressing up as a soldier for most his public life doesn't help. Maybe he's like Mao's grandson, Mao Xinyu, and just a fail son who likes uniforms. There's usually a sort of playbook that dictators follow when they want their son's to take over and the visual aspect is very similar to their relationship. The difference is that Kolya has no real position within the government, he's still a child so that's a given, but they haven't had him actually joining the military or announced plans to go to a most likely Russian military academy. I honestly just think Lukashenko wants to publicly cultivate the appearance of a fatherly figure and spoil his one son by indulging him.
