I'm buying the Tingler tonight even though I haven't finished Glen or Glenda. I feel like I owe these guys a lot. Also, Im hoping to hear a ' Tingle me this, Batman' riff in the Riddlers voice.

THE TINGLER! Actually just Frank talking about his cat. Edit: Of course as soon as I say that they make the same joke.

They specifically said that if you didn't buy a ticket you won't be able to get a download. edit: It will definitely be on pirate sites and if you want to feel better you could donate $10 to the NAACP which is the charity for the event. muscles like this! fucked around with this message at 01:54 on Aug 19, 2020 |

Other than the initial broadcast in the various markets when it was aired, any extant copies are bootlegs (and an archive in a safe, surrounded by lead and buried in concrete on Skywalker Ranch). There has never been an official home release and likely never will be.

Yeah, I've figured I can stream the entire desktop screen, so that's what I did. Apparently they switched away from YouTube towards Zoom/Vimeo because YouTube kept deleting the rehearsal streams due to the copyright issues.

I saw it riffed live by The Mads a couple years ago. I did enjoy the show even though now I can't recall a single riff (I tend not to remember the riffs). The movie itself seems to be less interesting than Glen or Glenda or The Tingler, but I'm looking forward to revisiting it.

Personally I don't mind a greatest hits of live shows past since the only way to see them before now was if they came to your area, which they didn't for me.

Oh yeah, I'm glad they're doing what they're doing, especially when it looks to be working pretty well for everyone involved. I only miss the live audience, and I guess The Mads miss it, too. A digital download is a very nice bonus, since I missed most of the yesterday's show. RiffTrax needs to come back with another live clusterfuck though... PS a few interesting tidbits about The Tingler gleaned on Wikipedia - "It is the first depiction of LSD use in a major motion picture"; - The scene with a blood in the bathtub is filmed in color: they used black, gray, and white paint for the set, and applied gray makeup to the actress; (this one I need to revisit. I absolutely thought the scene was shot in black and white, and then partially colorized); - The projectionist at the end of the movie is the guy who voiced Gumby (among other cartoon characters).

The base premise is just so completely bizarre. No, human beings don't have some secret fear based parasite living in them.

Watching The Mads do The Tingler now, and for some reason I like that Frank and Trace aren't shy about cussing, which is not something I normally require in my riffs, but for some reason it works for them. "Seriously, gently caress these guys!"

It doesn't happen often and one might think maybe Mike had them tone it down but in something very recent he even said 'poo poo' so maybe they just do it when they think it's funny.

In case anyone wants to watch a sci-fi comedy series with Joel Hodgson playing a jumpsuit-clad stoner trapped on a spaceship with a snarky robot voiced by Trace Beaulieu and various other characters, you can find all 8 episodes of 'Other Space' streaming on a thing called 'Dust'.
