Venture capital-funded Silicon Valley entrepreneurs are generally in it to either make a lot of money or get a career in venture capital. An acquisition is pretty much the easiest way to make money, and it counts as a success when interviewing with VC firms later on. Most entrepreneurs aren't in Silicon Valley and don't get money from venture capital, but the popular image is driven by that group.

See, this is what I thought when I took Business 101, back when I thought I wanted to be an accountant. Turns out that no, the goal of any business is to eventually sell the company to a larger company. It was right there in the first chapter of the textbook.

It’s impossible for Jack Reacher to lose track of time. I think there’s a bit in book in book 15 “Worth Dying For” where he is knocked unconscious and he knows exactly what time it is after he wakes up even tho he’s locked in a windowless basement. And in book 2 “Die Trying” he falls asleep and wakes up at an exact time without using an alarm clock to freak out one of the compound guys holding him hostage. fadam has a new favorite as of 22:56 on Aug 25, 2020 |
