finished s1 of the old higurashi anime. i think the worst thing i can say about it is that after really mangling ch1-3 and the back half of ch5, the way ch6 is handled feels insanely uninspired outside of like a few moments and only works at all because the original writing is so strong ch5 really is the low point though. they really ruined uh. everything about it. the satoko scene is almost kind of unwatchable

I started ssss.gridman on a whim and this show is pretty good. It's like 100% FLCL trigger and feels great. Idk if it sticks the back half but up to do 5 I like it. Also extreme bokurano vibes from this show.

Basically all of the Hololive Vtubers end up starting their career playing a character and then over time as they get more comfortable that character starts to just shift into just being the person being largely themselves and playing up gags they enjoy personally. So as a result you get stuff like members of Hololive themselves saying that they are waiting for the newcomers to have their actual characters develop as they get more comfortable streaming. Also some of the gags and characters can evolve from the person themselves noticing a quirk with their design and deciding to lean into it because they just think it is funny, like Lulu of Nijisanji who noticed how creepy her avatars wide eyed stare could be and decided to lean into it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=41lS5fkqGpg . I have heard Pekora likened to Jerma at times, what with her being the vtuber most likely to somehow accidentally slap herself in the face on stream. Okayu x Pekora is incredibly powerful and I hope they stream together more often. Pekora is best when she's getting bullied and Okayu is the best bully in Hololive in my opinion.Their Mario64 collab wasn't as interesting as the 51 games stream, but I still enjoyed Okayu trolling her during it and watched the whole vod despite not understanding a word of nihongo.
