For myself, I don't like wearing black shoes so all my shoes are brown and so are my belts. If you're wearing runners it doesn't matter what colour your belt is, you already declared to the world you don't care how you look.

Also be aware that "leather" has grades, with "Full Grain" being the highest. Some places get away with a glue/leather mix which is not what you're after.

If you want a good belt just go to a leather smith and buy the parts it cost me about $10 for a strip of solid full thickness dyed leather and the metal bits and you can just pay a little more for the leather smith to put it together if you want.
