you're good man. there's like over a century of literature and thought about what to do with police unions and the greatest labor theorists and scholars of our age have routinely come together and concluded "gently caress em."

This is a good article on why police unions don't belong in the labor movement because they're opposed to the labor movement's goals:

The tl;dr is that the labor movement advocates for improved material conditions for all workers, and police unions advocate only for more policing.

Only if those touchdowns are coming from defensive players returning interceptions, just like his final pass as a Patriot!

As much as I’d like it, I doubt the Giants would fire him after one season unless they are absolutely horrid. Like, 14 or 15 losses and basically not competitive at all in most games.

McAdoo was IIRC the only head coach they ever fired during the season, and that obviously involved the Eli situation and a ton of other poo poo. Aside from that, nearly every other coach they’ve had, even during their ancient putrid days in 70’s, or guys like Ray Handley in the early 90’s or Pat Shurmur recently, were given two full seasons. The Giants seem to like to claim stability or some poo poo like that, which works when you give guys like Parcells or Coughlin time to change or adjust things, but also leads to things like Dan Reeves staying on as the team slid without major signs of improvement. I can’t imagine them firing Judge barring a complete implosion unless they also fire Gettleman, which I’m not convinced is particularly likely this year either, and a new GM wants a new coach.

I honestly would be surprised if a coach gets fired this season considering how COVID-19 is throwing the standards right out the window.

Then again this is the NFL so :lmao: .

I sort of buy. There's enough money to magic up a 12 mil or more 1 year deal for Clowney. On the field it's a great fit. Calais Campbell, Brandon Williams, and Matt Judon are enough to ensure Clowney one on ones. Plus the offense might be up 2 scores often enough to allow Clowney to pin his ears back and get that quarterback. Get himself 12+ sacks then hit free agency in a non Covid environment.

I'm still not sure how Clowney got to this point when he could've/should've had himself a 20 a year contract 5 months ago.

There was no chance he was getting $20mil and he actually started by looking for $22-$23mil. Rumor is the Seahawks offered up to $17m at one point, though the only contract that leaked was $27m fully guaranteed for 2 years. He already turned down $18m from the Browns. Now that it is clear no one is going to offer more than $15m and most contenders (he claims he must play for a contender) only have the cap space to put in ~$12m max, it will be interesting to see this play out. Someone might get a good deal on a one year rental, but he will have to play his rear end off to not look foolish.
