The 13 series is like the most anime of all the FF titles, so ymmv depending on your tolerance for that kind of melodrama. 13 is really linear but has good combat. 13-2 is much more open ended and fun imo, but also that much more nonsensical. Lightning Returns is pretty different altogether, I didn’t get far in it but people around here seem to like it a lot.

ive been playing ff9 and that game owns except it should have been a ps2 game because it runs like crap. 15 seconds fight transitions get the f*ck right out of town

All the games in the 13 series are good for different reasons. I'm still slowly playing thru LR, but I don't think it's a long game at all since you're incentivized to do multiple runs. It would be sick to do the starting area with a stacked game cleared Lightning. Hell yeah

Finished up Remake tonight, hell of a final chapter So I guess those ghosties were trying to make sure the story of the original game happened and I murdered them now? So who knows what will happen in the future. I hated them originally and found it so frustrating that Jessie broke her ankle due to an absurd ghost invasion but it makes a lot of sense now.

i've only played kh1, but it seemed clear to me from it that the plot would never make any sense, nor be intended to and i had no trouble of making sense of poo poo like xenogears, etc

I've been playing Dream Drop Distance and it's good but it definitely feels like a lesser Birth by Sleep, and it has some B tier Disney Worlds. The environmental attacks are cool and probably a little too strong. Riku continues to be the best character in the series.

I liked DDD a lot but gaining abilities with the dream eaters was a pain. Command fusion in BBS was a lot more fun

wrapped up the org XIII data fights today and they were awesome, except for maybe one or two annoying ones like the berserk guy (the weird hovering movement for using huge swords feels bad and I don't understand why it's like that)
