Watching the Gundam 0079 compilation movies as my first foray into the Gundam anime and drat Amuro was Shinji before Shinji huh (note I haven't watched Evangelion yet either). Love the Guntank and Guncannon, RG Guntank when???

Can't have dad trauma if your dad falls into vacuum in ep1 and suffers brain damage e: but also Tomino is indeed a major influence on Anno, he's a fanboy to the point that he was part of a CCA fanbook where he interviewed Tomino and comes off more enthusiastic about his work than the man himself.

were you using like any of the super special attacks you get that melt health bars. there's a billion ways to break tokyo xanadu even on the highest difficulty, at least once you get three characters to build a party with. its biggest problem is that there's just a few characters who kinda suck to use for general combat but once you get sora you can kinda just use her for 90% of the game and she does so much raw damage the only reason to ever not use her is cause of elemental weaknesses

Im notoriously bad at ARPGs and this one relies heavily on dodge/block timing and pattern recognition to build up those big attacks. My save is right before the second dungeon boss, which I used all my potions on and still couldnt beat at least a dozen+ times.
