Commerical for a lawyer/law firm played throughout at the late 80s and 90s. Shows the backs of people's heads as they said legal issues like "drunk driving", "assault", "adoption", etc. The adoption line was what the last woman said and it echoed so it sounded like they were saying "adoption option option option" and the narrator saying something like "if you need legal help call....". I want to say it was a commercial for 1-800-lawyers but YouTube and Google show nothing. The commercial was played countless times on daytime syndicated tv in the upper Midwest.

I've been looking for a movie for years now, and this iteration of the thread has inspired me to search again and finally find it. What I remembered: A teacher put it on in elementary school one day for recess so I would say it must be pre-1988, looked much older than that A young child is in the woods and chasing I think a butterfly He chases it off a cliff and dies and goes to heaven Another teacher got up and turned it off and put on something else I guess stop reading here if you want to play along on your own I finally found it. Hallmark's 1969 The Littlest Angel which appears to be on youtube in full. Oddly enough the top comment is also someone searching for it based on remembering only the same part. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X6KhABs6d7M

Back in the late 80's/early 90's my dad did contract work with NoA, and helped design this advertising poster for Super Mario Bros 3 that was just the cover image of Mario with the raccoon tail printed on vacuum-molded plastic. The thing had a button (or maybe it was a motion sensor) so when people walked by or hit the button it would say something in Mario's voice. We had one at our house and it was one of my favorite "toys", but it broke and/or we lost it in a move. If I ever win the lottery I'm going to scour the world looking for another one, even though at this point I'm pretty sure none still exist.

I have an extremely online request, so I'm hopeful somebody knows what I'm talking about. I remember a screenshot of a post that used to make the rounds occasionally, 90% sure it was from GameFAQs forum between like 2002-2005 or so. The key line I remember from it is: "I've read all of the 'so-called' classics, and not one of them come close to the depth and complexity of the story of Xenogears." or something pretty close to that. GameFAQs forums are all still hosted into the dim distant past, but I can't find the original post for love nor money, nor the screenshot itself. Anybody else remember what the gently caress I'm talking about/have a copy of the screenshot? Or even better, can find the original thread?

When I was a kid there was this series of books in the 80's about historical (and maybe scientific?) topics, they were thin and almost magazine-like but printed in better quality. I remember they used lots of real photos whenever possible and had zero kids-book whimsy. They often covered serious topics like the JFK assassination or the Titanic sinking and had a news report style "just the facts" presentation. I feel like I read a hundred of these back then, but I must have gotten them from the library or something because I can't remember ever actually owning one but always having a pile of them to read. They were like the kids book version of a day aimlessly following wikipedia links in the breadth of topics covered, and I think this might have been a NYC/northeastern locally-made thing because iirc there were ones about specific indian tribes native to the region, unless they just had em about all the indian tribes. Here's a mockup of what they vaguely looked like. The colored strips in the header would be a different color for either each individual book or for a certain theme, don't remember which.: The "aspect ratio" might have been different, I think the horizontal was wider

A live action kids show episode, there's like an all knowing mother/auntie/godmother figure. In the episode there's a kid (7 or 8 yrs old maybe) that gets his mind hosed up somehow (by mental trickery or some substance?), so that scale of things in the world is all off for him. I remember him looking at a burger and the sesame seeds on the bun were huge, way bigger than the burger itself. The auntie figure is like oh, just do x silly, and it's fixed just like that. I don't remember what x was though, a pill or potion, or the moral of the story? Not a lot to go on I know, but it's vexing to me cause I don't even know what show this would be. I think I saw this in the late 90s, early 2000s, but none of the poo poo I watched then fits the images in my head. I want to say they all lived in a special town or village or something too, like Lazytown except everyone was definitely a person and not a puppet (everyone I remember in this episode, anyway).

I'm trying to remember a fantasy book we attempted to read at school, around 2001, but the books were probably older. We tried to read it so haphazardly I only really remember the following. There noblewoman/princess who was bad at sewing and ankle adornments were in at the court. "... which would render any discussion of ankle adornments academic." which I think is an exact line. I think there was a dragon on the cover, but I can't be sure.

i might have asked about this before, but there was a 3d short animation with soldiers who receive their medals then walk off a cliff, one by one. they form a line, iirc. that’s the best my memory can do and anyone who can find it for me will have my undying love and esteem (or at least some very nice words) the video would be, maybe... 7-8 years old?

Here’s one: many years back, a goon got his hands on a CD from a friend some weirdo kid had a huge crush on. It was a CD of him talking to the girl saying stuff like, “mm-mm-mmmm, I loove you”, and singing All My Life by K-ci & JoJo. I think he also talks about hoping to get to hold her hand or kiss her someday. Someone in the thread did a “remix” in which they added Closing Time by Tom Waits and made it sound even more pathetic. I would love to hear this again.

This one has been eating at me for the better part of a decade. Every once in a while I'll search the internet for it but nothing comes up. I could have sworn back in the mid 90s or so that Sega had a slogan that was "That's My Word!". As in, the voice over would say "Genesis...That's my word!!" or something like that. It also could have been "Mark my word!" or "Mark my words!". I always remember the slogan following the name of the product. I'm thinking it wasn't Sega because their fans obsessively document everything from their history and I can't find this ever being a slogan they had. So it must have been for another video game type thing, or even just something completely not related to gaming but with the same "edgy" ads Sega had. Anyone have any clue what the hell I'm talking about?

Oh yeah I'm a big 90s hip hop fan, in fact the way I remember it being said was similar (if not an actual direct sample) from this song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XlEhJUD-1pk It appears at exactly 2:30. I listened to all of the commercials you linked, it seemed like the first ToeJam and Earl commercial was getting extremely close to saying it but it ended up not. So I'm thinking it probably was a Sega commercial now. Only to find out which one.
