Guy has played a bunch of shooters, and most everyone who does the basics right (mouse pad, sensitivity, input lag, etc.) , practices some and isn't exceptionally talented or driven looks more or less like this.

He's playing at 1440p probably on a 24" monitor, which is then recorded at 1080p, edited, and uploaded to youtube. What you're seeing is probably much less clear that what he sees on his end when he plays.

Finally, scanning the horizon (lots of people stare at where they expect loot to be, and generally spend a lot of time and mental energy looting, when it should be a fully automatic and largely blind process that no time is spent on). That is, spots where profiles can show up are scanned (ridges, rooftops) and places where people might almost disappear in the clutter but would have LoS (like the guy here). Combine that with simply training your stimulus recognition (pieces that look even a little off are people, shoot them) and then follow the hitmarkers once you do spot and shoot somebody. In my experience, lots of lower level players are hesitant to shoot at say a muzzle flash, a window with a smudge, a little spook in a bush - there is a tendency that people want to sort of 'confirm' a target, and that is very silly to do in a fight. Also, streamers maintain framerates with all the max settings by having a dedicated capture card/capture PC while their main machine just plays the game.

Once you notice him it's like, oh yeah, that's not part of the building. But also think of what's going on. Buddy up ahead just pinged near that area. He's not just running, he's looking that way. He also plays a shitload of FPS. You're also seeing 60fps stomped on by YouTube compression after that, he's seeing 120+ fps crystal clear. I think you'd probably see a guy running in front of the pharmacy from ~60m away too, if you're honest. Just maybe a bit later than Jack!

I am an avowed bad player of this game but I still like to beat my head against the wall, but what is up with the matchmaking in this game? I am not good enough to ever really stomp anybody, but if I am doing "well" in say TDM I'm usually only going positive by 5 kills or so. If I am doing badly, I just get stomped into the mud and end up going negative by 10+ kills. Am I just staying up too late at night and playing into sweatlord territory after all the other casuals go to bed?
