Well, so far the Swedish approach have resulted in 5 times more deaths than Denmark, so saying our approach was the good one is deeply insulting to the dead ones relatives.

Let's point out that a Russian said it was rape. Clearly the crazy Russians only say crazy things, like that Danes allow sex with turtles, or that Jeppe Kofod is a rapist. It's just part of Russian state propaganda now, so we can safely ignore it.

The funny thing is, you totally could gently caress a turtle until a few years ago, provided it didn't suffer physical trauma. And Kofod would have legally been a pedophile if he hosed her just five days earlier. She was also an intern in parliament, so I don't know why §223 stk. 2 didn't apply. Not like it makes a big difference. He got a trip to Brussels out of it. Oppfeldt just lost his seat, got a slap on the wrist and became a city council candidate for Venstre, and that case was even more egregious. As far as russian news goes, then yeah, given the track record you're probably better off just ignoring everything coming out of there, because even if you manage to find the one non-disingenuous, non-propaganda, non oligarch controlled, piece of news that once in a while slips through the net, it's not worth the effort.

Clearly the problem can be summed up as #NotAllMen... just, you know, some of those who vote on, say, how the law defines sexual consent.

All in all, the only thing I feel comfortable stating is that anyone who's making claims about how well/bad it's going in the Scandinavian countries compared to other Scandinavian countries are probably talking out of their rear end, unless they cite creditable sources. The point was that the statistics reported on that site seem uncreditable, and don't seem to align with the official number when they're available, and that the same numbers don't always seem to be available despite the fact that the Nordics have similar public health systems in place. Speaking of statistics, thl.fi also has a page for it. What's also interesting is that it appears there is a page on experience.arcgis.com for Denmark, Sweden, and Finland but not one for Norway - and it's weird that the Danish one is the most detailed one, because I'm having a hard time justifying why the data shouldn't be there for the other countries without veering into

Sweden has this thing where they hired a bunch of "every day people" to watch hospital entrances for people with covid symptoms. They're posted at every single side entrance too and if you want to enter you need to show a valid summons as well as bring a maximum of one person with you (the summons also needs to mention that you can bring one) In general these people tend to be polite and helpful and just really cool to deal with. Personally I think this is a great idea because it's a useful service and anything that funnels money to the working class can only be good. My dad's body is pretty broken from almost 60 years as a metal worker and his knee is in really bad shape. So I drive him all the way to the main entrance. I then park the car and met up with him. I was taking my dad to the hospital and we ran into one of these guards who was going ultra-fash right there in the doorway. My dad showed him the summons and the guy took it away from him and then started flipping through page after page of medical information while a queue started to form behind us. He said that my dad could come but not me. My dad told him that the summons specifically mentions bringing someone with you and the guy took the summons from him again to start flipping through more pages. He then said that since we were going to the "L" section then we should walk all the way around the hospital and use the rear exit because the L section is closer to that door. My dad responded that we were going to have coffee first and the cafeteria is right inside the main entrance. He still refused us entrance and he wouldn't even let me get a wheelchair for my dad from the inside. So I had to get the car, drive my dad around the whole place to the rear exit, park the car and run back to him. We then gradually made our way through the hospital to the cafeteria to have our coffee. Half an hour later we are now about 20 meters away from the entrance he wouldn't let us enter but on the inside instead.
