If that's the big building that used to be next to Euston Sq station, we (my boss & I) went to look at that as a possibility to acquire to move part of our Health Authority into.
It had a completely soundproof room on one of the floors, it was suspended above the floor about 30cm and from the ceiling so as little connection with any other parts of the building as possible.

Yeah, 140 Gower Street - it was actually directly over the station, and shared a wall with the Wellcome Foundation, which has fueled an awful lot of speculation over the years.

Richard Spencer and the whole 'third positionist' crew explictly have creating this discussion space as their no.1 short term goal so good job Weetman you dumb idiot.

Like she's probably just annoyed at pro-PoC idpol implicitly criticising her and wants to activate a trap card Yu Gi Oh style but it's such a stupid loving thing to say, literally nobody that is concerned about young black and brown people being systemically denied life course opportunities is going to go "oh yeah, i guess i kind of am denying the holocaust if i advocate against systems of white privilege". The only direction that discussion is actually gonna go is the Sam Hyde 'all the privilege in the world' antisemitic critique that jewish people get white privilege and PoC status all at once and doesn't that seem unfair? We've a few podcast suggestions for you if it does...

The normal argument for neoliberalism leads to fascism is that it creates tensions which can only be alleviated by socialism or barbarism but I'm starting to lean towards neoliberalism creates stupid idiot children who just omnishambles everything up tbh.

Stupid post, you've got no idea what forums poster Comrade Fakename has done or achieved for one.

Taking the 'what have you actually accomplished?' argument about surrendering Labour to the right or not is particularly, specifically stupid too btw. The NHS and the welfare state were created by left wing factional power within the Labour party. Love my local projects but loving point at anything remotely comparable the extraparliamentary left has achieved.

We've got a lot of posters ITT boasting about leaving Labour it would be great if any of them would post a plan or alternative strat of some sort.

Even just a really broad roadmap of how their method is actually better, it's wierd that what seems like a dumb arrogant dogshit stance is normalised to the point that it can just be white noise stated even if they're actively being rude and unpleasant.

I've heard from two different wings of the Labour Party in the last few days that members are not allowed to discuss certain topics (anti-semitism, leaked labour report) at local level and are also being advised not to 'express an opinion' Eg one person who is active in Amnesty asked to share a locally-relevant Amnesty post on their CLP's page - other not-strictly Labour stuff has been shared on there in the past - but was told 'no'.

Also, a former, essentially blairite, MP I know expressed surprise at the number of Parliamentary Private Secretaries that the shadow cabinet seemed to have (following on from yesterday's sackings) and said when he'd been an MP, only a handful of the shadow cabinet had a PPS. Then he added that having lots of MPs in PPS roles was a better way of keeping control over them.

Since quitting the party several months ago, I have felt more free to express my opinion on certain topics without fear of expulsion on spurious grounds and being unable to afford in any way, shape or form, to fight a libel case.

Lipstick Apathy
Any job-saving initiative has come far too late for my workplace, all the customer-facing staff are long gone, as well as most of the facilities staff. We're doing a very gradual reopening and one of the reasons it's gradual is because the staff who are left are having to cover as much of the customer service side as they can. The facilities work just isn't getting done. Those jobs are gone and there's no plans to even think about replacing them before Christmas.

NEED SQUAT FORM HELP
My MP, Luke Pollard, replied to my "why didn't you vote against the Overseas Operation bill?" with:

"the bill is not good enough and needs improving. Labour set out a very strong case for improving the bill during its parliamentary passage yesterday and that is our intention to do that. As a result I didn’t vote against it. But please remember there’s an 80 strong Tory majority"

Which sounds so reasonable and yet perfectly encapsulates everything wrong at the moment. Succinctly, the bill doesn't need improving, it needs binning. Labour can't do either, so they might as well take a stand but no.
