Granted, I was drunk both times, but there was still nothing that stood out to me to make it a good movie. I like Thomas Jane and Keegan Michael Key. That's all I really knew going into it.

I may be misremembering, but they make a huge deal that Fishbourne had survived several groups being hunted on the planet. But after the finale we see another round of prey already being dropped onto the planet. Making the joke that Larry had probably only been there like two weeks and had already gone total Lord of the Flies.

The Predator being about the titular monsters wanting to give themselves autism as a superpower was certainly... a choice.

Also the thing where where director Shane Black cast his friend who was a convicted child predator (insert joke here) in a minor role without disclosing this to the other actors, one of whom was a child. Olivia Munn asked Black to cut his scenes and he refused until there was a public backlash and he went "sorry, I knew he was a pedo sex offender but I didn't know exactly what he emailed that 14-year-old until now, I'm the one who feels betrayed here!".

That was an awkward situation all around. IIRC Olivia Munn refused to do the press junket for The Predator over this too. The Predator has some good ideas/moments but nothing gels together to make an interesting film.

Anyone in this thread who hasn't done so, go play Alien: Isolation because it owns, really captures the look of the films (especially the first one) and is scary and tense as poo poo. I've got my 9 year old hiding under the blankets playing it and he's finally where he can play with me and take turns with a FPS control scheme thanks to him loving around with Minecraft. Sounds stupid but seeing him master a FPS control scheme felt like a rite of passage and I felt proud in a weird way. Good times Father and Son getting scared to death hiding in lockers, behind tables and holding our collective breath. He actually got us through the medical level on his turn. That's my boy. drat, I wish they'd make a sequel to this. Such an underrated and, sadly, low selling game. There's so much they could do with this license/engine and I wish it had caught on more than it did. The graphics , atmosphere and sound are just fantastic and really capture "Alien". The tension they manage to build is almost like nothing I've ever played before. I honestly can't remember the last time I played a video game that made me holler/scream/yell out loud or drat near poo poo my pants trying to find a hiding spot. What I'm saying is go play this game if you love thinking about Aliens.

All right, sweethearts, I have just this minute finished 'The Cold Forge' and heartily recommend it. It's a good page-turner and I was shocked, Shocked when everything went to poo poo and there was still half the book left. I was a little let down by who opened the kennels but as written nothing else would have made sense. Never stop thinkin bout them Aliens

Watching some streamers can be entertaining in the same way in the same way as an actual slasher flick - when a cocky, obnoxious guy first gets the flamethrower and they're all "Awwwww hell yeah, Imma go gently caress it up now!" and first time they meet it, they drive it away and think they're unstoppable... ..meanwhile, you're just looking at the 225/500 on the fuel gauge of this item that's supposed to last them the next few hours, and which is already more than half gone after a single encounter.

A guy I was watching last night said that when he's streaming he usually has a space heater by him because the upstairs it's super hot so they have to blast it and the downstairs gets cold. He said he didn't have it on because his adrenaline was so high. One thing I'm having a problem with watching these people is their problem solving skills are incredibly frustrating. Running around the same room for literally 10 minutes looking for buttons to press or whatever and they didn't want to go into the other room because it didn't "feel right." lol Other people running around the same room while not noticing a well lit vent in a dark room that's saying "hey, look at me!" It's annoying. If you're stuck for that long then read a small part of a walkthrough or just ask the chat room. But alas, I'm too scared to play it myself.
