I found one a five second flight from my base that had a class A rifle with full slots unlocked, but now that I have the money it's been replaced with a poo poo pistol. The multi-tool cabinets have set number of designs they cycle through per system (I think four?), but the class is always the same per cabinet. I'm not a hundred percent sure how to reset beyond save->reload for the first cycle. I think if you manually warp out and back in it will keep cycling? So you should be able to get back to the cool gun you saw the first time.

They're flora and the white glowing things in the ground wiggle about. It was described as a Radioactive Abomination planet, but honestly, the radioactive background was the least worrying thing on that planet. Just horrifying giant dead bug plants everywhere.

Found out that the scrap dealer mods are great for generating nanites. If you find a space station that sells pugneum and npcs come in selling it then you can get into a cycle of buying that and buying the mods. Make a save by hopping in and out of your ship and then reload it to reload the scrap dealer. I also found that the hyperdrive modules you get from the tech one are pretty nice. They give you range or efficiency but one of the ones I opened gave me 100% efficiency and 80ly range on top of it. I'm at the station in this system: http://nmsportals.github.io/#11D6FCFFEFF5 with multiplayer turned off since I found it in a Youtube video last night. There's probably tons of other places to do it.

Finally picked this up a few days ago since it was on sale, and I'm actually pretty pleased with it. Been meaning to actually get around to base building eventually, but really I've just been enjoying running around visiting planets and living like a space hobo out of my now kitted out starting ship. A quick question about bases, though, since I'm finally catching up to that part of the main quest: if you build another base and put in work terminals, do you need to hire additional staff for each base, or do the ones you have just kinda teleport around between them? I built a quick barebones structure on a boring frozen world because the tutorial told me to, but now I'm looking to gradually upgrade since I've found some good places to build. I 'd at the Gek dude when he arrived all being like "drat, this is a really nice base!" when he got there. Come on, it's a loving one-room shack located in the rear end in a top hat of the galaxy that doesn't even have lighting you dork.

# ? Sep 26, 2020 18:44 |

No need to hire additional specialists, they just sort of exist at every single base with a terminal at once.

OK, I've started building more bases again, and I'm already finding new and interesting bugs. 1. My personal refiner doesn't stop playing the refining-sound even after running out of energy. The sound for the refiner finishing and stopping never plays. If I refuel, the sound stops. Otherwise, it's eternal industry background sound time. 2. My short-range teleporters work without fuel. At first I found this awesome, but since the dumb things are supposed to eat electricity, I freaked out later and made sure everyone has an energy connection. 3. Not a bug, but weird: With my newest base, I suddenly ran into the realization that it's possible to build your base larger than your short-range teleporter can cover. In this new base I already had to build 6 teleporters, and I may need another pair before my big dumb mountain highway is completed. On the other hand, this newest project is slowly turning into a remarkably robust labyrinth, what with you often stumbling out of a short-range teleporter facing the wrong way. My favorite part so far is a tiny fully enclosed building with no exits and two teleporters. There's a window in case you get turned around, but it's a prototype of things to come in the future. Teleporter labyrinths.

My original base is a bit of an amish house with things tacked on here and there so I have a little teleporter room. It has the base teleporter thing and 3 short-range teleporters to different areas of my base.

I'm now up to 12 (6 pairs). I still need another pair to finish up this dumb thing. Also , when trying to erase a door I didn't need after I finally reached the top of this mountain and started tinkering around, the game went no, gently caress you mode and deleted an entire large prefab section instead. Left everything I had attached to it hanging in the air. Of course, since there's no redo-option to go a step back, and since I now have to delete everything and then rewire everything again, I decided to stop and go eat lunch instead. So I guess I'm back to 11 teleporters again until I redo that last bit.

Other than dialing down the graphics settings is there something can do to address the stuttering on PC? I've got a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti which I assumed would be more than enough to handle this on ultra settings but it keeps stuttering all over the place and I've seen texture pop-in issues and all that too.

Translators don't stack and you only need the highest Pass you can make.

I found that adjusting the thread count in the config file to 2 less than my logical processors (8 to 6) made stuttering go away in VR and non-VR, might be worth a try.

Man I don't know who it was who decided you can't place market terminals on regular walls any more but I kind of want to punch them. Also the farmer wants me to make a flower out of poop so I fed the local animals. But I over-did it. They won't stop pooping. It's all rolling down the hill. An avalanche of poop.

I'll try dialing down the settings first, but for a gme this old, ultra shouldn't be that hard. I mean it looks nice, but not that nice for a game. I've also just reached the space station for the first time, but this planet i was directed to build my first base on feels like a horrible inhospitable piece of poo poo. It's a nightmare to land my ship anywhere and my environmental protection is constantly sapped. I'm guessing this a deliberate way to get you to feel the hardships of the game or something? Am i far off from getting to a nice hospitable planet where i can feel like i can take a breather nd just farm materials and build poo poo in peace?
