How did you guys know I had 2x spicy noodles last night and sitting on the toilet in pain?

My Pro doesn’t get loud but it heats up the entire room. Really hope it isn’t an issue with PS5.

Is TLOU2 a good game? I haven't heard much about the gameplay. People mostly speak of it like it's a film.

I'll probably play it on PS5 eventually but I don't have much of a stomach for misery entertainment these days, and when even the positive reviews of the game say things like "this was a miserable, emotionally exhausting experience, tough to get through, and I can't wait to play it again" it really seems like it appeals to people who specifically want that. I thought Joel crashed and burned at the end of TLOU and that it was a fitting, if frustrating, conclusion. The idea of a TLOU2, even without knowing anything specific about it, seems like it takes place after the Morrowind "the thread of prophecy has been severed" message. Just playing around in a doomed world for the hell of it.

If you liked the first one then 2 is as good or better.

The PS5 will bypass this problem by physically being too big to be kept in a room. It's big folks.

I just rearranged and decluttered the shelves where I was going to hide it and now they look so clean and aesthetically pleasing that I don’t want to put Sony’s tacky looking industry award for blind giants anywhere on them. There’s no good place to hide it in my living room. I dislike the new console designs so much.

The solution is to put your living room inside the PS5.

TLOU2 is a great game but it's definitely not one I will go back to again.

I'm at least glad that Naughty Dog was able to make a good sequel because I was skeptical of doing a sequel because of how well the original ends. It's absolutely a bleak game but there is at least some idea that not everything is total poo poo by the end.

The best thing about TLOU2 is that the framework is there for another game in the series within 2 to 2.5 years. Maybe just set within the same world.

"I think human consciousness is a tragic misstep in evolution. We became too self-aware, nature created an aspect of nature separate from itself. We are creatures that should not exist by natural law. We are things that labor under the illusion of having a self; an accretion of sensory experience and feeling, programmed with total assurance that we are each somebody, when in fact everybody is nobody. Maybe the honorable thing for our species to do is deny our programming, stop reproducing, walk hand in hand into extinction, one last midnight - brothers and sisters opting out of a raw deal. Also, the PlayStation 5 is freaking huge.”

The accessibility options Naughty Dog put into the game are amazing. Every game developer should look at that menu and the options therein and adapt it to their project.

There's some interesting new research on how perceptions of spiciness are situated in a cultural context. The latest hypothesis, drawn from meta-analysis of the most cutting-edge literature across multiple disciplines, is that white people think mayo too spicy.

There are different reactions humans have to types of food regarding the tongue and nose. These can cause the brain to have a rewarding, dopaminergic response to, or not. There are many that humans globally agree on (fat, sugar) while others have geographical, and as a result cultural, differences to. After all this all goes back to what was locally available within the region from a historical perspective. Spice is definitely part of that, especially comparing asian cultures to that of, let's say northern european. the same way opinions differ regarding the heavy use of dairy products, like cheeses. Western europeans love dairy stuff. This is where the current diet of midwest America comes into play and why they find yellow mustard to be far too spicy, while people closer to cities who are exposed to different cuisines from various cultures throughout their life have a different take.

Maybe your brain gets a rewarding response from spice, maybe it doesn't. that capsaicin-based heat is still part of the flavor of the food, and billions of people love that flavor attribute even if you don't. sorry to break the news to you

I don't think anybody so far has mentioned that the more you eat spicy food the less uncomfortable it is. I know jalapeños are far from the hottest thing around but I eat them every day for breakfast because they taste delicious, so I don't feel any heat from them - but other people in my family would be floored by the heat because they never eat spicy food.

This is a weird derail. We really need those new consoles.
