About how you'd expect, a little bit worse graphically in general but fine otherwise. I'm nearsighted so I don't know if that has something to do with it but there's something weird with the rocks and cliffs on it that's really unpleasant to look at on it. It's like...greasy, and shifting oddly, I don't know how to explain it well. Aside from that, it's got a ton of great features that I hope they don't abandon in future releases.

It's not directly related to games, but in other regions than Japan have the output of new themes dropped to almost nothing and new avatars dropped to absolutely nothing? The most recent avatar on the Japanese PSN is from April. Edit: and the last hundred or so of them are from some mobile game called Briks 2 that I have no idea what it is other than it's about big boobed anime girls.

Playing FF12 again makes me think, how did they do the character skin coloring and how come no other game can do that? given this is a video game and you can't make people's skin look perfect anyway, this is just the best thing. Edit: except during pre-rendered cutscenes where the characters look dumb as hell in comparison.

The Switch version runs fine because they rebuilt the game around the Switch's capacities to such an extent that Square Enix considers it a remake. It looks fine on its own, a bit fuzzier than the PS4 version but it's only an issue if you compare them side by side. And a minor graphical downgrade is worth it when the tradeoff is the added content and some really helpful quality of life changes.

Square Enix is offering gamers a rare chance to prove they prefer gameplay over graphics with the console ports of DQXI S. If you're not sure you'll like it, the game is coming to gamepass on release day. I thought it was a decently well polished 2/3rds that makes a complete, if mediocre, game and then a so bad I quit and will never finish 1/3rd story.
