Thanks, I missed that. Seems goofy with having Stashak there, so I just assumed, oops. I'm sure it won't be a huge factor, and I bet things will look very different if they advance anyway.

Maeda's slider usage went from like 32% in his career to 42% this season so it does seem like the big analytics that the Twins use is "throw more breaking balls."

And yeah things will look way different. Hill isn't on the roster right now either.

It's also sliders specifically against lefties. I dunno enough about pitching to speak super intelligently on this. What I read was sliders are traditionally viewed as good against same sided match-ups (hence his death on righties status), but the Twins thought the pitch would be good regardless of who it was thrown to.
