Apparently Corbyn's 'rule breaking' dinner was a wake, and therefore not against the rule of six, because wakes are exempt, because reasons. So the whole thing is manufactured outrage about a person to distract from outrage against inconsistent rules.

One possible benefit to a boat is that, if the migrants can rebel and take the vessel, they can sail away and force their captors to do the £1p/h slave labour instead.

A friend went to a wake and it was 30 people, max, split on to tables of 6 max with the 2 household rules. Seems less risky than any general pub setting, but yeah pandemic. Can't imagine how poo poo it would feel to lose someone and not even be able to have a wake at the moment though. Tough times.

If that's true then surely someone at the wake took the picture and sold it despite knowing that it wasn't against the rules? Scummy as gently caress.

It still should have been 6 to a table if it was a wake, I guess. So it looks like he went to a gathering in honour of a friend who had died, and then more people arrived, making it over 6 to a table, and he didn't automatically beep boop and leave. So he was breaking the rule of 6, but not unlike any other normal person in that situation, if that's what happened.

Yeah, that. Maybe he broke the rules by not automatically leaving the table mid-conversation when two more people showed up, raising the number to 7, but it's not "driving 30 miles to test your eyesight" level of abnormal human behaviour, but the press can't seem to let go of any opportunity. You won, your idiot manchild is crashing the country, get over it.

In Wales they didn't become compulsory until 14th September. Not in defence of Spaffer Snr but to show how it can get confusing when the news publicizes rules for England as if they are UK wide when they're not - gets especially confusing round here where the border between England and Wales snakes in and out between villages so drive down the same road and you're in Wales, under Welsh rules, a mile further on and it's England and English rules and another mile down the same road it's back in Wales again. Lots of people in the locality live in England/Wales, shop in Wales/England, have a GP in Wales/Englad, have to go to hospital in England/Wales, have family a mile away with different socializing rules.

The rule of 6 exemption for religious ceremonies, which a wake could qualify as, is only in venues with social distancing measures (where you can spend money) such as a pub or restaurant and you have to stay in tables of 6 and not move between. In a home you can only have 6 people in total. The wake thing is rubbish and Corbyn himself isn't using it. He hosed up and hes apologised. He might get fined 200quid I guess.
