Guys, I need some advice. Last Christmas, my loving but not always terribly strategic wife got us both a DNA test. I believe it's with myheritagedna but I'll have to check. She just got the boxes, we haven't actually provided any samples yet. It's becoming a little bit of a political hot potato. I don't mind spitting in a jar and learning that, yes, I am in fact very, very Scandinavian, but I would mind if my DNA ended up in some foreign database somewhere, and I'm not terribly interested in facebook messages from long lost illegitimate cousins-thrice-removed. What's the consensus on this?

It's awful and I was also guilt tripped into taking one. My mother has connected with a dozen new "family" members and I want nothing to do with it. It also thwarts my future serial killing plans.

Don't do those DNA tests, they're just data farming you. Anyone know a USB to SATA adapter for a 5.25" disk drive? I'm out of SATA ports on my desktop, I have a working drive, and plenty of SATA power connectors. What should I search on eBay/Ali/whatever.

Junk it when the CVT shits itself. yeah i think if you plan to ditch it when something goes seriously wrong it's a fine idea now on the other hand driving it will probably suck so be ready

Almost done... just need to remake 1 speaker grille and put hardware on (after I decide on hardware). The speaker grille cloth is shimmery and doesn't photograph well, or color-match well. I took it to get color matched and came back with a purple that's the same color that shows in this pic. In real life, though, it is a medium grey, which is the color I manually matched. So, in person, the colors are the same. Receiver is mounted inside and a 7.2 wall plate and speaker wires are done. Right now there's only the 3 front speakers, but it's getting there. I've watched a number of things down there so far and it's great.

Nice 2nd gens go for about $3000-5000 here when you can find them, even with a lot of miles - this is a base model (only options are floor mats and the autotragic) with a bit of body damage and a tired transmission. I theoretically have a 10Gb connection but don't have any devices with a 10GbE interface. https://fiber.salt.ch/en/fiber/internet There are also networking points in the walls but as far as I can tell aren't connected to anything. So I just get whatever speed AC wireless works at. Sad!

Lol I did this a few months ago with my fiancé’s rapid dissolving nausea drugs. She has a million drugs now for cancer and treatment side effects and it gets hectic and needs cleaning up and organizing every now and then. Sometimes the pharmacy breaks apart the blister packs on the nausea tablets and stuffs them into a regular pill bottle, other times they leave them together and just put it in a regular ziploc baggie. That time it was a ziploc and I probably thought it was trash, because that’s where I found the entire unused pack that I had just picked up after frantically racing against the puke clock looking for them

Gigabit fiber here, but even Ubiquiti’s 802.11ac access points can’t go over 220ish or so. Also the fuckers who wired my brand new house with cat6 messed something up because I get link at 100mbit half the time and it’s such a spergy problem that I haven’t been able to justify throwing effort at it yet. My ISP will actually sell me 5Gb but I don’t have any gear that runs above 1Gb and frankly it would be even more overkill than it is now. In fact, there’s two fibers and if I get my place registered as a commercial address I could, in theory, get dual 10Gb links.

I mean... I went through that wiring my old place up (with the cheapest garbage tier CCA cable, didn't even spring for copper). It's usually one or two wires not being securely in the keystone jacks, or at the patch panel. Occasionally wires reversed. A cheap ethernet cable tester will identify it pretty easily.
