                  This Nissan Datsun Pickup™is extremely appealing. That fire engine red paint contrasted against the lovely weather both looks awesome and also makes me feel bad for person snapping these pictures. It's a fire truck so it's flawless. Do notice some weirdness with the air vents on the inside though, like they are melting? I don't know my emergency lights/sirens but it looks like there are two of them to choose from, a bell, and the best part, a PA. Hell yes. Optioned with AC but not a tach.

The bed is high and completely above the frame on the Bongo/vanette so no fender arches in bed and all 3 sides fold down

Yeah, that's pretty normal for cab-forward designs like that, things like transits are the same. What's even better is you can often just slide the dropsides off their hinges to make a trayback.

They ditched the spare which I've seen people do to Land Cruisers in Japan, though it wouldn't be too hard to get a new spare tire holder and put it back on as the bolts are still there. We've had enough of these 70s that they start to become pedestrian but they are real good money and are highly sought after so we get them as we can. Tires are old and it will need it's timing belt done when it gets here.

Didn’t see that one at auction. Looks awesome! I thought since summer was over my camper sales odds would go down but it’s been the opposite. I sold my gold HiAce Grand Cabin today and I’ve had unlimited interest in my others. Also ha e three upcoming vehicles accepted to BAT. That is a great looking 70, good buy!

I have done extremely well on a couple way better than I could have ever made selling privately and not so good on the others. The three I am listing this time I think should at least do “ ok” with the chance of 1-2 doing great. I had a camper rejected that I just sold for my dream price privately so it really is a hit or miss thing. Good chance I made 5-8 more selling privately at least. So lots to talk about and not easy to put into words. All are going no reserve.

It's truly gambling and just like a casino the idea seems more fun then actually doing it. I can have a vehicle sit in our warehouse for months and wait for someone to come by and buy it with no drama or fees or anticipation or anything. Hittin' big on BaT happens rarely enough to not make it worth it from my point of view. It is fun though!

Kaker is absolutely right for the most part patience is best, I have just been very lucky to find the right audience a few times on BAT. I did horribly on my Bluebird wagon. But I destroyed on the Pajero Mini and the bucket truck.

Let's talk about Celsiors. A Toyota Celsior is what Japan called their Lexus LS400. Lexus wasn't a thing in Japan before the 2000s, so any 90s Lexus you see here in the USA was a Toyota in Japan. Neat, huh? Let's talk about this specific Toyota Celsior.  Now, forgive the pictures of it dirty, as we imported this Celsior for someone specifically means that we didn't detail or wash it because the client wants to do that. This is a 1995 Toyota Celsior Type C, F Package. What does that mean? It means it's a baby Toyota Century. We're talking all the options you'd ever find on a USDM Lexus LS400, and some that we would only dream of. The biggest thing about the Type C F Package is this:       Completely wool interior, rear seat-centric convert options with the ability to control the HVAC, stereo and passenger seat from the back. The rear passengers get heat, massage and reclining ability. In-dash 6 CD changer, completely voice navigation GPS (though you'll notice this one doesn't look the best, typically what happens to them after 25 years!), ultrasonic vibrating mirrors to get the rain off them. No sunroof though, weirdly enough. Does have space for a medkit under the passenger seat:  and light-up seatbelt buckles    A neat toolkit with a light up flare-pen thing.  A complete set of all of this!  Some-what colorful floor mats!  Basically it's a really neat Lexus LS400. Mechanically it's all the same, but you get a ton of cool-rear end doo-dads in your ultra-quiet and comfortable, immortally-reliable grandparent chariot. I get why people would want one of these super-Celsiors.

Whoa I just got huge nostalgia vibes from that EXACT in-dash 6CD changer from taking road trips in my buddy's parents' 98 LS400 to football games and poo poo. Wow. That wool interior though....yowza  I think cloth is the way to go anyway, but wool is bonerrific.

Ultrasonic mirrors, never heard of that! I have heated ones, which are nice in the rain but leave water spots (and also is on the same switch as the defroster so probably sucks up a lot of electricity). I think I had a car with lighted belt buckles (which I don't think worked well), I wanna say my Volvo 740? I have a Celsior with the brown cloth/maybe wool interior and until recently had a 94 ls400 with tan leather that ran and drove great. The Celsior interior is vastly more comfortable to settle into. Mine is not the F package so it does not have the fancy rear seats and co trolls in back but it does have air suspension and 22k miles.

That Lexus is awesome. So, cool car buying friends, is there a good way to tell if you can fit into that Autozam without actually sitting in one? I do love small cars, especially tiny sports cars, but I'd be extremely worried that my body type is more Buick, less Suzuki.

It's fun and zippy but the stock suspension is soft, it isn't exactly fast and it's inconvenient in a bunch of small ways that can dull the luster off driving something so freakin' cool. It's hot in the summer even with AC, you will get bombarded with inquiries to it from everyone (great if you've got time, a pita if you are just trying to get fuel and bounce). Maintenance is awkward at best, a major pain at worst, with some specialize parts but mostly down to the mid-engine mounting. Upside is there is a large community dedicated to them so you'll never be without answers with whatever issue you do have. If nothing else will do then an AZ-1 can be the best car in the world. If you are more just slightly inside the 'hey neat' category then a Beat is a better car to live with, and a Cappuccino is the better driver. Neither of them will get the looks that an AZ-1 will. If it's just the doors then a Toyota Sera is 98% of an AZ-1 but with absolutely zero downsides as far as livability and maintaince is concerned. Hey, everdave! So, the Toyota center caps you got for the LS400 wheels on your Estima that didn't fit - were they from a Celsior or something else? 'Cause Kaker's Celsior looks to have the same wheels.

The Lexus wheels in 94 were 16” I just assumed they would be the same size caps. I did measure but no eBay listing posted measurements. I just kept them for my Celsior in case I ever need replacements.

Sorry, I just used the Autozam as an example. I have no intentions or interest in buying an Autozam for the reasons people here have stated. If I had the cash/space etc I would look at maybe the Honda Beat/Cappuccino, but that's most definitely something further on down the road. I do love reading about y'all buying and selling JDM cars, and "would I fit" is always the thing I wonder. As the forums AZ1 owner the parts can be a pain and does require effort but not impossible only thing that is near impossible is the AC compressor. as for hot in the summer, this is correct but get some good tinting for every window including windshield and you have a comfortable summer car till the AC compressor dies. The AC is the weakest part of the car. But yeah its a 63 HP super car in which most maintenance isn't too bad.

Or skip all that nonsense and go the extremely easy route! I'm taking more power, better AC, more comfortable and (marginally) safer! Maintenance is as easy as going to the parts store and saying "early 90s Tercel PLEASE" to get what you need. Cheaper to buy too     "Hey baby wanna see Murray's inspiration for the F1's doors? What do you mean 'who is Murray' and 'what the hell is an F1' hey wait where are you going come back" Sera is about ready to be listed, I want to finish cleaning the interior tomorrow. Already have the door struts replaced, timing + other belts done, new thermostat, new coolant, AC system converted to R134 and charged. Oil changed, of course. I won't have the rear glass struts for a little while yet but those are on the way as well.  Also got the Hilux ready for sale as well, though with the Sera we're waiting on the titles so we can actually, you know, sell the things. Someone is going to be extremely happy with this truck. ALSO today got the dock pictures for that beige FRP top 70 series we picked up.

Kinda surprised the Sera didn't get some decent alloy wheels from the factory, it looks pretty bland with plastic wheel covers. Also wanna see pics of that Lancia Delta in the background of those port shots
