people should bear in mind these images were taken by professional photographers, so if you aren't one then you probably won't take photos that look nearly as good

HDR Video capture just sold me on it. Good poo poo. I have no idea why the Pro iPhones would appeal to normal consumers, but Apple seems to be leaning hard toward pushing thee distinction "most people should buy iPhone 12" and "if you want a really cool, portable camera, get an iPhone 12 Pro (Max)".
