Depending on the game, it's usually easier to Gotta Go Fast in Mario than it is Sonic, which is why I've never really gotten into Sonic.

The biggest difference between current gen consoles and PCs is that memory reads and writes are the same speed, where on any PC memory writes are always slower than reads. So what you may ask? Having memory reads and writes that are the same speed simplifies things considerably.
