The company makes a ton of money I think they will be fine. I work for Intel. I played the run up to earnings and sold everything I had on the pop on news of the company selling the NAND division to SK Hynix. I never hold the stock through earnings, Intel gets absolutely slaughtered for missing *anything* when it comes to earnings. While I'm short term bearish on Intel, one thing I know from working here as long as I have is that the company does best when it's behind. It's a different playing field this time now that we don't have the technology lead (TSMC is kicking our rear end right now) but Intel is going to bounce back. Keep in mind the company owns all of it's own fabs. In the meantime it pays a great dividend. I'm waiting for a low to form so I can add some to my long-term account.

I don't know why I hung on to a small amount but it's really annoying and I guess I'll just hold on for the dividend?

I never hold the stock through earnings, Intel gets absolutely slaughtered for missing *anything* when it comes to earnings. Yeah both of Intel's last earnings reports hit the trifecta. In-line or beat on Revenue, EPS, and the big one: raised guidance. But the market is extremely focused on the fact that Intel has lost its tech lead and it's only a matter of time before their market share crumbles. Servers, mobile, desktop; they don't have the edge on any of it. They could turn it around in a year, especially if they get their 7nm process down (Intel 10nm is equal to AMD 7nm, and Intel 7nm will be competitive with AMD 5nm), but the market won't pump it until Intel specifically announces that. Until then, the only chipmaker I'm holding is TSMC, unless Intel drops into the 45 area. Or if, y'know, China invades Taiwan and the United States doesn't immediately threaten war if they don't back off. That would also get me to buy Intel.

Looking at the five-year chart INTC still doesn't look that oversold, given the erosion of its dominant position. But without question I don't count them out.

I don't think Intel is done by a long shot, they'll recover but the market is short sighted and I don't think they'll have much to offer in 2021. Looking at current action so far today I expect Intel to close the week out around 84-86

I got out of the bonds a few weeks ago for basically break even including 1 interest payment. REV is offering 32.50 for the bonds and desperately extending the offer. If they don’t retire these they have a bunch of loans that are accelerated in November which could definitely force a bankruptcy. Still holding my February puts and bought some November $2.50 puts for .15. Bad bid/ask spread but if you are attentive can still probably get some for $.10-15. Very good risk reward imo

Intel seems to be good every time it does a hard drop, but not straight after. Also, I wonder if this 30 year chart is a good vision like Ebeneezer Scrooge had, ghost of Tesla's future.![]() I'll leave it up to the reader to decide exactly where now is.

Sorry for going on about it but this stock is just so funny to follow.![]() We used to live in an age where it was impossible for mere humans to trade because the algos were so powerful, now it's strongly meme driven. The three top candles in that pic, 14:50, :51 and :52, all top out at exactly 420.00. Probably another strong resistance at 420.69. e: calling a 420 pin on the close Ola fucked around with this message at 20:23 on Oct 23, 2020 |

How do you nerds feel about penny/dollar stock purchasing? I'm looking into doing some more investing, but I'm not sure if I just dump more into my Voya account that's just sitting around doing whatever it is doing (401k from old job that's now a roth ira), or dump more into my current 401k matched asset plan at my current job (already submitting the max I can there that the business will match, 6%) So far this is been about 12k over the past...3 years, which I guess is okay. I don't make a lot of money to begin with. Maybe about $32k a year before taxes. I see a bunch of apps for like "invest a dollar into nike stocks!" or like "invest every time you swipe or make a payment" and stuff like that, but I don't know if those are worth bothering with, or if there are better ways to do armchair investing. I'm not really interested in like, managing the stocks myself, or selling high buying low throughout the day, I want to put $20 in and then forget about it entirely until the next time I need to put $20 in and have someone else do that stuff for me. Skimmed the OP but not sure which way to go

Yeah, in your situation I wouldn't gently caress with stock picking. Now that buying fractional shares is ubiquitous, my advice to you is to get something like Robinhood and just buy $20 worth of SPY every time you want to sock something away. (SPY is the go to fund that represents the US stock market.) Longterm thread will have more nuanced advice but I think the above is the simplest version of what it sounds like you're looking for
