FMguru posted:90s cinema had its share of problems, but id rank it miles ahead of our current wasteland of marvel cinematic universe entries, reboots, franchises, adaptations, and relaunches right now the best movies these days are basically A24 Films and the like. without A24, movie would be loving terrible. like all of the really good movies of 2019 were either A24 Films or a similar production company and all made on budgets of like $1 million to $39 million tops.

interstellar hit me pretty good with what i want a movie to be. it felt very, very Big. i dont know another way to describe it. Like I really enjoy films that cross a large time span, but interstellar had that alongside, for lack of a better description, beautiful shots of silent space with gas thrusters poofing and imax-esque lens flares off loving stars and black holes.

I feel like the only actor that annoys me like that is Ben Affleck. Anytime I see him in a movie, I instantly shut it off.

It was basically a big joke when BVMW left and i suddenly had complete control over what shows were playing, versus having to put up with a constant assault of gray's anatomy and supernatural on the tv all day, and i was all 'hey whats up with this eva stuff'. i live slacked my watch of it and on the last night when i did the last two episodes people just spammed CONGRATULATIONS to me in chat, and i was like "haha ok" and then the end scene happened and i was like YOU MOTHERFUCKERs

my favorite moment of that whole relationship in retrospect is that we had been dating for ~6 months and i was regularly crashing at her place. one morning i woke up to her shaking me and crying NEW YORK IS ON FIRE THEY'RE FLYING PLANES INTO EVERYTHING and i replied 'haha wow we're finally getting ours' and she just started crying harder and i had to put on a face and comfort her because it was september 11, 2001, and later that day i got to sit in a 100 car line to fill her purple Dodge Intrepid up with $4 a gallon gas because nobody knew what the gently caress was about to go down i have always been an edgelord shitposter i guess
