Wildlands was so good. Breakpoint? Not so much. I wonder how its possible to drop the ball so hard as they did with that game. Kudos on them for making the level system optional in the end though.

Man, opinions about Breakpoint really seem to be insanely split. In this thread, everyone who talks about it seems to hate it. Over in the Steam thread, people have pretty much been doing nothing except singing its praises. No real idea who to believe anymore.

Ghost Recon is a series with a ton of entries, so it depends on what game you're looking at. Ghost Recon Wildlands is pretty much exactly that, though, although it's squad-based on top of everything else as well. It's also so racist in its portrayal of Bolivia that it literally caused a diplomatic incident and made the Bolivian government file an official complaint about it with the French embasssy.

Like I said in the steam thread, Breakpoint is literally just Far Cry. Like if the next game in the Far Cry series had you playing as a special forces dude instead of a random everyman, with a correspondingly military-focused story, it would be indistinguishable from Breakpoint. This is playing with the gear leveling turned off; maybe that ruins everything. Also I'm playing it solo instead of co-op or with an AI squad.

No real idea who to believe anymore. if you liked Wildlands it's now got most of the fun stuff from that but it doesn't have to open with a statement about how it does not actually reflect the place it is set in because they put it on a fictional libertarian island instead of a real country

The funny thing is that I've since realized that a normal fall from walking off of a ledge that high (instead of dramatically swan diving onto your face) does barely any damage, so I just ignore ladders and break my knees constantly now.

Reminds me of Starfox Adventure. One of the dungeons in that game is a big vertical climb, and when you get to the top, you need to go back to the bottom. I'd wager that at least 90% of the players just jumped off the closest ledge, fell like 20 stories, and took the half-heart of resulting falling damage, rather than actually retrace their steps safely.

I thought at first that it was an infectious animation glitch, because it looked like touching the first guy triggered it in the second, but now it looks more like that place in The Animatrix where children let themselves fall to the ground and it just pushes them back up into a standing position.

Yeah, it's definitely a buggy location, I was playing around with it for a while and it grabbed either one who walked up to it. Fortunately, Franklin himself is too powerful to fall under its sway.
