bought 7g of Mandarin Cookies shake from Nature's Grace and it's absolute garbage. like I wasn't expecting it to be "good" by any means - it's shake - but it's so absurdly dry and devoid of any weed-like flavor that it's worthless for anything but making edibles. disappointing as I've bought that strain from that cultivator in flower form before and it was quite good. gonna just decarb it and use it + all my abv for another batch of brownies. e - although I guess it's not quite as bad as the Cresco High Supply poo poo, that stuff literally tastes like gunpowder

gently caress buying dried out weed. First thing I do now at dispensaries is ask how fresh the flower is, or look at the packaged/harvest date on the jar. I got sold a couple grams awhile back that was harvested like 6 months prior and was dry bullshit that hit like rear end.

What is this phenomenon that is taking place then? Cos anytime I end up with old dry weed it's crumbly and tastes like poo poo but it gets the job done.

Cos anytime I end up with old dry weed it's crumbly and tastes like poo poo but it gets the job done. yeah same here, but I think the poo poo that gets sold as 'shake' in IL is quite literally just the byproduct of trimming bud, which is then further processed in some way to make it more consistent, which dries it out and dulls the flavor. like it still got me high...but I accidentally combusted it in my vaporizer twice because it's that dry, and it tastes, like... woody? and bad. vaped or smoked. whereas I've gotten 'shake' in CO and CA that was more like the 'shake' you accumulate at the bottom of a big bag of bud. kinda dry and fine but still very stinky and tasty and vapeable/smokable weed.
