I subscribe to the ad-free feed and towards the end of Abbie Hoffman part 2, Dave reads an ad. I thought it was a joke at first considering who they're talking about, but nope, a real ad slipped through.

Their audio mixing hasn't been great. I get the limitations with zoom or whatever they are using but they are so loving quiet. I have to have my stereo cranked up full blast to hear it when I'm driving (it's been nice out so I have my windows down). Then the next podcast comes on and my eardrums rupture.

re: volume, I use Podcast Addict and there's an option to boost the volume on individual podcasts, so that could solve your problem if you're not tired to your current app.

I'd assume that if they're still on...whatever network they're on there's someone who's responsible for QC how should check/process the file(s). That said maybe it's because I haven't listened in few weeks or maybe iTunes normalizes things but I haven't been that bothered by audio issues. I say that as a failed audio engineer.

I remember an episode recently where the main audio was super quiet then the intro kicked in and it was so so so much louder than the rest. like it can't be that hard to normalize volume levels

That really screwed me up the last time it happened. I just thought I had reached the end of my queue and was concentrating on work with the silence then bam, super loud into into a different podcast. Fuckin Dave man.
