I'm not convinced there will be a normal election in 2024 at this rate. Or 2022, for that matter. Trying to ram through austerity and nothing else because you fundamentally can't govern in the midst of a pandemic that's going to drive people insane/kill another 300-500k people per year until we get it under control is just more gasoline thrown on the various tinderboxes of American tension.

I've wrapped around on controlled opposition now and think they really are just this loving dumb here's the logic on the weed platform of the DNC: 1. We need to pick the most electable candidate 2. Biden is the most electable candidate. (reasons: ?) 3. As it is Biden's platform, and he is the most electable candidate, being opposed to weed is the most electable platform it's really that simple I'm sure somebody tried to talk him out of it but I'm also sure the response was "I just won the primary, I don't need advice from you" because that's the way every high profile democrat "thinker" is

If you're a progressive or leftist and you voted for Joe Biden, understand that they're blaming you for a narrow victory rather than giving you credit for putting him over the edge. You were a fool for thinking that you were going to get a seat at the table.

So she’s mad that other people out there support the idea and that her political opponents tied her to it. So I assume her solution is that the democrats just making saying “defund the police” illegal like BDS. And also socialism. And jettison anyone from the party who dares speak those words. All so she can keep her comfy sinecure and not have to actually stand for anything. Oh, and of course she also marched with BLM protestors in an extremely calculated ploy and that is what was used against her by her opponents, so BLM is definitely on the chopping block.

The results are telling me that Bernie would've lost. The downballot elections took a massive hit because everyone thought Bernie's "socialist" politics would drag Biden to the left and I think the electorate has shown they firmly reject this. If Bernie ran against Trump in this matchup I could've seen states like Virginia, Wisconsin, etc flipping red and Trump would've comfortably sailed into re-election with the trifecta. I'm not saying this to troll. The election results point to a sound rejection of what Americans culturally identify with as socialism. It needs to be re-packaged under a different identity with a charismatic leader who knows how to work the media but isn't tarred and feathered by self described socialist ideals. Just like everyone today calls fascism Trumpism we have to call that centre-left social democratic idea something else. Whether it's Cortez-ism, New Monetary Theory or whatever.
