A quick guide to all of Polish politics in the last 30 years (insert any hot button issue of choice): 1. Doing things to either please or spite the church (this parameter is 100% of what defines your platform as leftist or conservative) 2. Taboo on ever calling anything leftist or (god forbid) socialist, because spooky scary soviets (this includes, for example, never using the word "party" in a political party's name) 3. Never outgrowing the reaganist enthusiasm of the 90s (one might consider point #2 its direct offspring) 4. Political leaders basing their policies on personal friendships and grudges with people they've encountered when politically active around 1988-1992 and for a populist special: 5. Willingness to import whatever the big social topic is in the US, several years late and with zero understanding of it or surrounding discourse (not that it'd stop anyone from instapicking their stances along partisan lines)

Ironically, PiS's child support cash infusion centrists hate so much might help cover this

I really hope you are right, but I'm really sceptical that it's gonna be that easy. I looked up what an abortion costs in Germany and it ranges from 350-700 EUR. Insurance only pays in cases of rape or if there is a medical reason(but if you are low-income, a German resident can ask the state to reimburse them later) I don't know how it works in Poland, but I'm sceptical that someone on welfare there can easily just cough up 700 EUR on the spot. And if abortions are illegal, what are the chances that their insurance will cover it? I think the whole situation is a huge disaster for low income women. Also, how is a two way ticket from Warsaw to Berlin 50 EUR? There is not a single ICE connection in all of Germany that is that cheap

Just the driving part would be something like 16h then? With traffic and everything I guess you would have to take the midnight bus and then be back home 24h later? That's quite an adventure. Warsaw-Berlin ticket for today is 99 PLN on flixbus page (~22 EUR) and I don't see any hidden fees. Might be last minute price, but I guess round trip would be 100 Eur at most. And it looks to take 9h. And I imagine some non-profits would help financing the procedure.

Today Lukashenko ordered to close borders for everyone. Not just foreigners, everyone, including Belarusians. 'I've ordered the commander of the border troops to decline entry not just to people with foreign passports, but also those Belarusian 'brainiacs' who left the country in these trying times.' Not clear yet if this is going to be enforced on the Russia-Belarus border. There's roughly a million of Belarusians working and studying in Russia, and about half a million elsewhere.

the only source I've seen for that is The Sun interviewing a "Moscow political scientist" and "Observers who studied recent footage of Putin." It wouldn't shock me if it were true but I don't see anyone more reputable picking up the story

I know people who continued to work with it even while symptomatic. If he is able to walk around normally I don't know he would resign considering this is Putin we can talking about. (Also there are certain things like essential tremors that can look like Parkinson's disease (shaking while picking up an object for example) but isn't actually such.

I don't see him being able to conjure up a successor that he won't have to exercise control and influence over in short order at this time, don't know how long he'd need but I imagine at least a couple of years, unless he wants his potential retirement (I'm not going to buy into the rumor at this point, so I don't think it's happening) to essentially be meaningless.

It took Yeltsyn about a year to make Putin his successor. But I'm highly suspicious of any health-related rumours.
