Clashing is when you hit their attack with your own attack yes, some moves are better for it than others. Hard Way is Nero's absolute braindead move for getting clashes but any melee attack with a long active hitbox will work. I'm not talking about the Snatch, I'm talking about Buster Arm, the one that does wrestling moves on enemies. You might not have unlocked it yet, you get it like half-way through the game I think. You definitely have the correct mindset though, keep on keeping on.

Yeah, one of the cute things about DMC combo vids is that there’s subgenres of people who go for sheer technical mastery doing fifty attacks at once, and people who try to add a cinematic flair and look cool and believable (well, as believable as anime logic gets.) I usually prefer the latter, and donguri is probably the best DMC player on the planet but they definitely fit in the former group. As for the Special Edition, it’s absolutely a monkey paw deal. By all accounts DMC5 sold quite well on PC so the only reason I can think of why they’re not porting it over is because, and I say this as a PC gamer myself, there is a certain sense of entitlement amongst PC gamers where they believe updates as small as what DMC5SE has to offer aside from Vergil should be free. But I’m so excited to play as our upsell boi in the DMC5 engine I’m gonna wind up buying it anyways.

It's not a conspiracy it's how business works, pc players just have to wait and eventually they'll release it or a modder will just get fed up and do the needful.

If Sony paid for exclusivity it wouldn't be on Xbox. Sony doesn't see PC as a competitor, they're even experimenting with putting first party games on PC. Buying exclusivity for an upgraded edition of an old game to keep it off PC and not Xbox is loving insane.

DMC5 first had exclusive marketing with Xbox and this time Sony. Either way both consoles see value in DMC which is good. They both likely said console exclusive.

Another possibility is that Capcom prioritized the next-gen consoles just to get sales lift from being in the launch lineup, and they're not talking about the inevitable PC release yet because they want people to get impatient and double dip

That was a cool thing that I will credit DmC with actually, they spell it out: Vergil actually had to watch his mother’s death, Dante (who was then named Anthony Redgrave?) actually was shoved in a closet and hidden.
