That being said, who knows, he could come back with another good performance in January.

Wonder if Hakuho is doing that in solidarity with Kakuryu? He's clearly shown that he's healthy and in beastly condition. Perhaps that or he doesn't feel he's 100% and just wants to be ready for the Olympics ceremony.

Chris Gould suggested Hakuho might sit out to help protect Kakuryu from punishment by the council, so that's definitely a possibility.
