The photo was taken after the former vice president and his wife, Jill Biden, stepped away from the TV briefly, when his grandchildren alerted him to the news, according NBC's Mike Memoli.

They were “enjoying the warm fall weather on their backyard patio Saturday morning when from inside their home, a chorus of applause erupted," Memoli reported.

“‘Pop, Pop! We won,’” his grandchildren said, a source shared with NBC News.

The fact that they call it Pop Pop tells me that he's not ready for the Presidency.

Sinfest was one if the bigger webcomics back in its heyday. While I imagine he had been loser readers for some time, his shift to feminism lost him both misogynists AND feminists who felt the shift was poorly done. This was before he then jumped onto swerf rhetoric, which flew under the radar for a while since porn and sex work in the US is still....really bad since the former lacks strong unions or regulation and the latter is outright illegal. It was only last year when Ishida exposed his whole rear end and added terf rhetoric to his comic. This caused a huge backlash that alienated most of his fans and cause a Patreon hemorrhage that wouldn’t be topped until Lowtax’s.

I dont know posted:

A quick check of his patreon reveals 362 people are still giving him $1172 a month. He clearly still has at least somewhat of an audience. Though it's been a good 15 years since Sinfest could be described as popular or important, even in the low stakes world of webcomics.

Ah okay, thanks. So basically he's still pulling down DBD's annual fundraising goal from back in the day? That's one of those things that would be cool, if the artist weren't such a shitlord.

I am sure that that is the sign-makers' intended message, and what most people take away from it, but when you get variants of "it's basic biology!" and "you're anti-science!" shouted at you every time you talk about trans issues on social media, you get wary.

Y'all are thinking WAY too hard about this, only moderate libs that aren't extremely online have those yard signs and they're to be taken literally. They really are just surface-level commentary about women's rights and science being real regarding global warming.

Yes. This is the kind of thing my mom would put up if she cared enough to put up a sign. It is vaguely well-meaning liberal positivity you can find across places like Washington State from people who are allies so long as it doesn't cost them anything.

I seriously doubt it's some kind of crypto-fascist dog-whistle based on what it doesn't include on the dumb list.

It's a right-wing meme about the relative vote counts. The vertical line is supposed to represent the moment when the Democrats "found" hundreds of thousands of votes to bring Biden ahead of Trump, based on a single graphing error from a single broadcast in Michigan IIRC.

It's absolutely fair for you to be upset by that phrase. However, there are lots of people out there who are upset by RBG's death, and also upset by Republican's denial of both climate science and infectious disease research (among many other things). To those people, it makes perfect sense to both push for women's rights and say that science is real, and it has nothing to do with trans women. At this point, many people who are sporting those sorts of signs are doing so as a rebuke against Trump, rather than a rebuke against trans folks.

This is the vibe I, a cis man, got too. Accusing trans people (and allies) of being anti science because they don't acknowledge that genitals equal gender is super common for transphobes. Ironically, actual scientists from biologists to fever theorists tend not to agree for a variety of reasons.

The fact that believing science is also a cool and good climate science thing, and probably the intention for most people displaying the sign, does not make it non-icky.

Yeah the science is actually pretty clear that sex is a multifactor continuum and not an explicit binary. Pretty much nothing in the world of biology or neuroscience is clean binary.

Even if you agree with the ideology the sign stands for, and every individual component on it, by being a laundry list of bumper sticker slogans it manages to be both overlong and vacuous. That's without getting into the other stuff people have been talking about.

The Fishman cartoon sucks because, by alluding to that particular sign, it's nakedly partisan. There's tons of insultingly vacuous yard signs across the political spectrum, around here there's a lot of "life is precious: pray to end abortion" and "don't commit suicide, you are loved." "Think of those dumb signs that you hate" is a reasonable basis for a topical joke, "you already know and hate this one particular sign" is partisan hackery.

In other words, the sign sucks, the cartoon sucks, and both of them suck a relatively small amount that's not worth giving a poo poo about.

Ah, but according to how I remember though school biology, there's only two sexes as defined by chromosomes.

This is also as good a time as any to mention that Denmark has a legal ruling saying that as clitoris above a certain length is actually a penis. I can't remember the length, but it's lige a couple of centimeters.
Unfortunately it's because an intersex person (details are a bit hazy, but they presented as a woman) raped kids in an orphanage, and that would obviously be a bigger crime if it was a man.

The art piece starts yelling at everyone in the room about how she didn't like it, and then explodes, somehow.

Anyway, said art sexbot went into a painting and possessed one of the centurions, and that's who's going around killing protestors, which is supposed to be a good thing, according to Tatsuya, I think?

First of all, thank you for the lore dump. This hole is as deep as it is dumb.

Second, this just further confirms my "this art is bad and it's a good thing to want to destroy it" assumption. Like, the sexbot tried to destroy it, why was it okay when she did it but not the protesters? I guess you could argue they were trying to destroy it for the "wrong reasons", but the reason they wanted to destroy it was because they're against fascist propaganda. So, yeah, kinda painting the anti-facists as the bad guys. That's a bad look, that's a real bad look.

A clerical error in Michigan accidentally saw a few thousand votes added to Biden's total all at once which caused the line to shoot up like that. It was noted as an error immediately and those votes were not counted in the final tally, which Biden comfortably won regardless.
