It does lead to a natural conclusion that he still doesn't see Forest Annie as the real Antimony. Sadder still that this is the better outcome for her.
I'm really trying to view it as simply not quite having the same rapport, a slightly different dynamic that Tony could work with. That he does want this relationship with his daughter and that he does see Forest Annie as his daughter but still can't get himself to have that relationship with his other daughter, despite her being literally the same person.

EMERGENCY POWER TO PARTY

I think I must have blocked this panel of my memory because I did this exact thing to the first girl who ever indicated she might be interested in me. Worse she took it personally and never let me apologize and explain that I just panicked!

Oh, Tom, you have owned me across countless miles and thirty one years :smith:

I did not teleport out though. I think I might have gotten another shot, if I had teleported.

Note to self.

What's this thing that's not the clock. Dad-esque artistic paperweight to really tie together the whole Oh Right I Am A Father And Fathers Have Offices At Home aesthetic Tony's goin' for?

edit: And see, so far in the comic Tony has exited from emotionally involved situations with "I have work that must be done" or similar and then he goes to The Work, presumably. But so far nobody has ever emotionally taxed him while he is at The Work already. We're breaking new incredibly awkward ground!

Curling your fingers under and doing a win+L like that is kind of painful. I'd go with a flat palm for that, or more likely just use the win key on the other side of the keyboard. Why does Tony always have to make things as uncomfortable and awkward as possible -- never mind, I just answered my own question.
