Given the thread title I think this is appropriate. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKXcIS5_Ebk The green screen Halloween concert Devin Townsend did was fun, but definitely campy enough to earn it's place here.

why are so many stereo effects pedals mono-in/stereo-out? you'd think they'd get the hint that people might use more than one stereo pedal and that not every stereo pedal can be the one that splits the signal into two?

Dual stereo inputs are more expensive I assume; would have to use two converters vs one for true stereo. It's still mostly the preserve of synth players and producers, but all the new TC stuff is dual stereo so it's not totally unheard of. Guitars I can't think of many common situations where more than one stage of stereo would be more useful than a selectable line splitter.

If guitologist is who I think it is on youtube I gave up after twoish videos. Something about his mannerisms and tone rubbed me the wrong way, I didn't even get to find out he was a chud first hand. edit: Don't really want to give him more hits but I was just looking over his youtube video page trying to remember which one I watched and I'm not clicking that. That's even dumber because the male rock guitar god has been, for the most part, dead since sometime in the 90s when music focused on that sort of image stopped being culturally relevant

People like Synyster Gates or Misha Mansoor are 100% guitar heroes, it's still a thing - just proportionate to the popularity of the style at any given time.

True stereo means processing the signal twice, mono to stereo just means spitting outputs at different parts of the modulation cycle.

If I can put on my FBI Profiler Cap for a second I think Brad the “guitologist” is a clever, mostly sweet guy who probably has a learning disability that kept him from doing well in school and social anxiety that kept him from getting along with people. Eventually the sympathetic backstory yields to “alcoholic dad kicked out of house, subsisting on microwaveable pizza, watching Alex Jones and making YouTube videos about trans kids and covid masks also asks that you like and subscribe oh please also donate to their Patreon.”

Speaking of twoodfrd and such, can anyone recommend any videos like this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAeXskZHC2o I'm looking for longer, chill luthier videos and far too many of them are sped up or jump-cut to hell. I'm looking for more meditative and detailed stuff. Can someone just make a New Yankee Workshop show for luthiers?

Rosa string works on YouTube does a lot of acoustic guitar/mandoline builds. His videos are usually an hour long in multiple parts if he's doing a scratch build. He also does repairs and has a goony looking kid as an apprentice that does some of the simpler stuff

The Rosa guy is good because he'll show you when and how he fucks up, too. He cops to some assumption being off and having to back up or start over, which is very chill and honest of him.

I've watched a portion of it so far and it's really detailed and interesting. I while back I watched this whole series from Fred Gabrsek where he builds hand-made Les Paul copies with his dad in their workshop. It's really well done and the guy is meticulous. http://www.freddysfrets.com/ Linking part 8 here to give you an idea of the detail as part 1 is mainly intro stuff, but there's 15 parts in total. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhvCbLlMMGc
