Yeah, each menu set is a specific combination of 3 items.

If you don't feel like looking it up, you can always order everything on the menu. It'll auto unlock every menu set there for you.

Properties/Market will let you buy new properties. My go-to strategy is to max out bank loans (5% interest gimme), tune up my properties as profitable as possible, pay off the loan, and then let the money roll in.

In the properties list. There will be open spots, and later you can sell properties you own (not the Confections though).

Some story events will take taxis away because they really want you to just do the next bit of the story.

Okay people seem to be asking about the management game so here's a guide:

The first thing to note is that every time you jump up in the rankings you unlock new employees and new properties that will eventually replace all your old stuff. Once you hit top 50 you'll start getting access to SR units and only then should you be recruiting employees you might not be using right away. Until you're top 50, you should only have exactly how many employees as you need to get all your bars in the blue - let anyone else go. Also, if you're really close to a new rank, don't buy any new properties because it's gonna be immediately obsoleted.

When deciding what property to buy, the only one that matter is the sales volume. That will tell you how much money the property will rake in, so always buy the one with the highest volume. If two properties have very similar volumes, look for the one with more empty yen symbols, because those can be upgraded more. Do not worry about whether or not you have the right combination of workers and stats needed to work it - the answer is either you already do, or you will eventually. There's no combination of buildings that is secretly unworkable. Even if there was, if you put a level 1 bronze employee as the only worker of the most expensive property in the game, he will still make millions and millions in profits - the little bars are more like a suggestion that a requirement.

The process of spending money should be like this:

Upgrade maximum sales volume of a property asap. Upgrade the other building properties to help you meet the requirements for the next volume upgrade. If you can't upgrade the building's service, for example, but upgrading it again would mean you can't meet the service requirements, upgrade an employee until you hit that benchmark. Do this until sales volume is maxed.

Look at your stock numbers. Are you about to break into the next rank? If no, buy another property and repeat the steps. If yes, just keep letting the money rake in and wait until you do, then once it happens and you get access to new properties, buy one of the new properties and repeat.

Breaking into top 25 is like an entirely different video game. Don't ever worry about upgrading an employee "too much" and worry about their salary becoming too high, because once you hit top 25 you will start making like hundreds of millions of dollars and any small corner-cutting you might be considering will be completely meaningless. You goal is to progress as fast as possible, never worry about your creeping employee costs.

As for who to recruit - once you break into top 50, just let any bronze unit go, they're worthless (except Grandma and Chicken who you can't fire anyways). Vacuum up any silver unit that has high starting management skills. Recruit every single gold and above unit as soon as you see them. Character usefulness can pretty much be taken at face value.

As for loans - take out loans if it will help you max out a property's sales volume, or buy a new one. Your share price is based on how much money your properties make in a sales day, not by how much you have in the bank. As long as you are capable, you should ALWAYS be spending your money on building upgrades, your money does nothing for you by letting it sit in the bank (except for shareholder meetings but those are easy and the -10% can be offset by your employees).

For the shareholder meetings, there's only two stats that matter - charisma and Command Cost. Just bring your three highest charisma units of each element (red/blue/green) and then Omlette. If you have two units with basically an identical charisma and the same color, pick the one with lower command cost. In the meetings, just use whichever color is useful against the color of the enemy. However, I also noticed that the remarks themselves have a color, and if you use a corresponding character, you can actually instantly break a remark. Say you're going against a red enemy - their remake might actually be green, meaning you need a red character to refute that point. Then, once it breaks, you can use a blue character to deal bonus damage to them. The general way it will work is break remark, then spam attacks until they're out of HP. Very simple. If you're almost out of command points, just refute a point and then don't attack. Simply calling on a complaint will boost your apology meter, so your goal is to boost it up to either level 2/3 and then apologize to get back all your command points, then finish the game with what you got.

His cronies are fine but coming up with a viable consistent strategy to whittle him down is a pain in the rear end. Just decided to switch the game off for the night. The fight is such garbage game design and it's making me hate the combat of the game. Going in with rush mode and doing minimal amount of attacks or just sidestepping and hitting triangle in Brawler seem viable but *extremely* slow.

Apparently super upgraded beast style can whittle him down faster.

Quoting myself, beast mode completely trivialized the boss fight once you get rid of the lackeys.

Just did the first boss fight in Chapter 5. Loving Saeko's characterization. First impressions, no plot events:

Unlike Saori she's not just the token girl. She's one of the gang, namely, the one most likely to kill a man. Ichi and the boys are lovable goofballs, sure, but the last female lead in an RGG game with as much proactive momentum was Sayama, and I get the same "give me a reason, punk" vibe from Saeko.

Game good.

I dunno if I’ve missed it along the way or what but there doesn’t seem to be an exp boost accessory for hero, freelancer or clerk. I have 5 party members at 30 and the other 2 are at ~27 which is an annoying gap.

There is definitely at least one, because I equipped it on Eri when I got her in order to bring her up to the same level as the other guys. I think it was called Tranquil Tenugui or something like that, but I don't remember where I got it from - possibly a substory. *Edit: It's from finishing community college.

Some of these substories are really long :psyduck: Like the little girl with the donation box, I think it's five or six separate events/encounters before that substory is done. Same with the little boy eating alone, the homeless man who builds a shelf, the pro baseball player. I keep expecting the story to end but then the character will run away and Ichiban's is all "welp, better go check on them".

Being able to have Saeko wear Kaoru Sayama's suit from Kiwami 2 while doing all the cute idol job poses is a blessing and worth the extra money for the legacy skins.

Is there anyway to increase the executive bonus past 3 million yen or is that just where the management game caps out? That’s normal exp for anyone, rather than job exp.

It’s ok because minor last chapter mechanics spoilers there’s a second levelling dungeon in the last chapter and it turns out the game has its own knockoff version of metal slimes to level with!

The Clerk EXP boosting item is in the casino

also I think the ""intended"" postgame cast grind methodology is probably not the management game, since getting to rank 1 would give you coincidentally just about exactly enough money to max out the factory with maybe a few left over. It's probably the final chapter dungeon stuff, or high-payout mode in the slots.

So I like the theoretical idea of the ultimate weapon for each class being tied to a minigame or sidequest around the city, but if Yakuza thinks that after getting all the King of Can achievements that I'm gonna double my number of total points for one weapon it's got another thing coming

especially since it caps your collection number at 999 so it's impossible to get more than 15,000 points per round. The purse costs 500k

the quickstep thing killed me and i rarely used the wall jump cause of the same problems youre having. the game is alot more generous with letting you throw enemies around so do alot of that. run around in circles when you see an enemy prep to do a mortal damage attack. for bosses i spammed booze and hit them with the drunk ex attack alot. tiger style is also way better than crane except for a few fights where they throw like 20 dudes at you.
