State GOP officials accusing the incoming speaker of being racist is absolutely news. And QR has always been a rumor/inside baseball site. Would Matthew Mcconaughey make a good governor? Probably not, but a literal empty seat would be an improvement to what we have now so by virtue of not being Abbott he gets my vote. Also I met the guy once. He was visibly drunk and was smoking a cigarette and had a dip in at the same time so I know his values closely mirror mine.

Allen West could try to stand up to Abbot in a primary but it’s my hope that his social media gets disabled with more stringent community moderation like we’ve seen recently from Twitter. That would really paralyze his already lame internet presence and probably hobble his plans for larger office.
