The long running "lightened" triangulation on the bas is great and looks plenty strong but the welding is so inconsistent and not straight. It's like they did a great job crafting the individual parts and then they're like " yea have the new guy weld it, who cares" EDIT: I'm assuming that's a piece of steel. If its aluminum I take back that it is strong.

The welds don't look terrible, just a bit amateur. Looks like he had his wire feed too fast and/or voltage too low. (on the assumption it was GMAW/MIG) It'll probably hold but it's definitely not as strong (or as pretty) as it could be.

Yup plus he probably did that welding in place and doing a climbing weld like that its easy to go to slow and get a lot of built up weld.

https://youtu.be/XZgKapNQD_8 A Monza, at Monza! When the driver finally warms up and starts running it up to the top of the rpm range the sound is stunning. A great example starts after the 5 minute mark. Coming out of that turn and letting loose on the straight blowing by the other cars probably creating a shockwave as they pass. You Am I posted:Cool highlights footage from some of the old Bathurst 500/1000 races. Is Roadkill completely dead now? It doesn't seem to show up on MTOD at all. Instead I watched an earlier episode of Roadkill Garage that I missed, with the VW buggy. They don't do much to it but it's funny how in the series I gave up on MCM, they spent 3 episodes without even managing to start their buggy, and here they checked the battery was at 11v and there was (some) oil and just went for it. And then rolled it by the end of the first episode.

^^^ I've seen segments of that in some ads I guess... it's interesting but I think the impact speed is like 80km/h so it's a faster than regular crash tests but I think the goal was to make it look more impressive by dropping the cars rather than accelerating them a bit faster in the lab. I also got a Volvo ad on youtube that showed clips from when they introduced the seatbelts. It's pretty hilarious, they've got people screaming about how it's a violation of human rights I recently had some videos on model ICEs suggested by youtube. This guy builds a single cylinder 4 stroke engine from scratch, including the crank and cam shafts: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pIPrrcwM0E And this guy makes a custom exhaust for a tiny V4 engine: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdoksITir94 It's almost Clickspring level but really makes me want to make or at least own a tiny scaled engine I could run on my desk when bored
